Do make reservations but don't expect to sit at that time. There is no rush at this byob. Disappointed in the fact that everyone raves about this place yet they run out of food. I guess you must come early. The stuffed fig appetizer was delicate to the palate and delivered big on flavor. I don't recommend the crab cake it's mostly breadcrumb. The Black Sea bass had a nice flavor but its pairings lacked flavor. The side of lobster risotto missed the mark. However they do make a great espresso. And the napoleon was phenomenal. The ratings is more based on not meeting the supply of food for the clients and long wait. By the wayCarlos is an exceptional waiter.

We were a party of 5 on Fri. night at 6:15. Had a reservation & we were sat immediately, even though 3 in our party were late due to traffic.Oscar was our waiter & he was fabulous.Ordered 5 different dinners w/Oscar's great guidance & they were all excellent. We were 1st time diners here. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, the noise level . It got very loud at points. In nice weather you could avoid the noise & dine outside. We will all return at some point regardless,as it was that good food wise.

Listen, Angelica's is good restaurant. In some cases, it's really good. BUT...they really don't honor reservations. Even on a Thursday night..there's a ton of regulars, (I thought I was one too)- and they turn no one away. It seems like a score to get a table.

This said, the food is mostly good. Their octopus, which once was spectacular, is now a mushy mess.

However, a pasta arrabbiata, was cooked perfectly al dente and was a perfect pasta course.

A main of soft shell crabs was an embarrassment. Soft mushy soft shells....they were so busy, there was no one to tell..so we left it and that was that.

All in all, Angelica's is a scene...with mostly good food...but who wants to fight for a table. It's just not worth it!

The restaurant is lovely but LOUD and the service was inconsistent. We've been there only a few times and clearly unless you're a regular (which we are not), the service is not the best which is odd given the number of wait staff. We sat directly next to "regulars" and I decided that I needed a 2nd napkin to cover my white cocktail bag. We were invisible to the staff.... it took the regulars next to us to get the napkin. Lol. The food was just okay, even the bread in the beginning was just okay... not warmed. Tons of specials on the menu and they are more than willing to make virtually any sauce on any fish/meat. Our appetizers arrived within minutes of ordering -- sadly, they do not know how to cook octopus, it was very rubbery but the cannellini bean salad was very good. Took a bit too long to clear our app plates but then our dinner arrived 50 minutes later and nothing arrived piping hot. Inconsistent is how I would sum up this restaurant.
