Threw out mysel and coworker after my company uses something like 700+ rooms a year from them. This to accommodate people they will never see again. This on a holiday weekend with a "good luck finding rooms" on the way out. Thanks for nothing I will never stay there as a first choice again.
The Internet is cable only. No wireless unless in lobby.

We spent 3 nights at this hotel in mid July in order to have easy access to NYC. The front desk clerk Anna immediately put us at ease, which has always been a good sign whenever we check into any hotel. After freshening up, we retired to the lobby bar to have a late lunch and were greeted by a very affable bartendress named Amy whose sister happened to be visiting from LA. Curious, we struck up a conversation, asking whether the food was a good value. Fortunately, we listened to Karen; the first bite into our burgers was pure delight! At that point, we inquired about dinner in the formal dining restaurant - whether the food was worth the money since by appearance, it was very upscale. With hearty laughs we were told that not only was the formal dining restaurant food delicious, it was affordable too. Later that evening we came down for dinner and were pleasantly surprised by the many fresh seafood items on the menu. Moreover, our Polish born waiter literally waited on us dotingly but unobtrusively. He was always at the ready freshening up our glasses of iced tea or reminding us what real service is like when you experience the professionalism of a well trained wait staff. During our stay we were able to meet some of the hotel management who made us feel like valued guest. In fact, after our stay we were so pleased that I spoke with the General Manager in order to let him know what a wonderful staff he has and that we would definitely recommend the Renaissance to family and friends. Based upon our stay the only "negative" would be if one did not have a car: there appears to be some type of public bus stop right across the street from the hotel; I imagine though that without your own vehicle, traveling to other destinations in NJ or to NYC might get a wee bit expensive. With that said, I would give our experience at the Renaissance the highest possible rating for cleanliness, professionalism of their staff, free parking and ease of access off the highway, and for the very wonderful views from our room balcony as we watched fireworks in the distance accompanied by a full moon. Any traveler would be wise to consider this hotel should they require proximity to NYC. And, now we know that the food is so good in the two restaurants that almost half of their customers are locals!

My family stayed here for two nights while attending a concert at the Meadowlands. We were very happy with all aspects of our stay. The front desk was more than accomodating with a quick reservation change and did it with a smile!!! My kids loved the pool and hot tub. Room service was also a big hit. Our room was very clean and had a great view of the city. We would recommend this hotel to anyone staying for a concert or even a quick trip to the city.

Helpful front desk, free wifi, clean and comfy room, small but functional workout room and pool and very efficient room service with tasty choices. If you choose to eat in the restaurant, it's also a good option.

We were greeted by friendly, smiling faces at the front desk and even upgraded to a room with a whirlpool due to our Marriott reward points, which was great. After the event we attended on premesis (a reunion) we went to the bar for a bite to eat and were told the bar was closed, only room service was available (it was only 11:30pm on a Friday night). So, we went to our room and placed an order. Almost an hour after placing our order the food was still nowhere to be found. I called to inquire and twenty minutes later the food finally arrived, and was made complimentary due to the wait. The next morning I called down to the desk for toothpaste.... it never came to I went down to the front desk... they sent a housekeeper up, a half an hour later. I guess I should just be happy I got what I needed!

Room Tip: Sign up for those reward cards, collect points.

Dear RichiesChick,

Thank you for your review and for choosing our hotel, I’m glad to know we were able to honor your Marriott Rewards membership with an upgraded room. I regret, however, your experience with room service and the delay in receiving toothpaste; I sincerely apologize for both. I hope you will return again in the future and allow us the opportunity to provide you with a seamless stay.

Best regards,

Toni Pinto, General Manager

Not much to add to the other reviews, except that if you get a second floor room be prepared to shut your drapes unless you want have the exterior flood lights shining in your room. On the plus side the second floor allows you to pick up the CK steakhouse WiFi.

Ended up here for a funeral and then the blizzard came and had to stay. The bar and restaruant are great and the rooms were clean and well appointed. It was a 47 dollar cab ride to Newark Airport.
