“Friendly vibe, but you don't go there for the food”

Barnacle Bills is a fun place on the water in Rumson. It has some nice beers on draft and has a cozy, family-friendly atmosphere. Todd brings in some really good local bands on the weekends (none are crazy loud). Bernard Purdie (drummer for Aretha, Steely Dan, et al) has played there recently. Unfortunately the food is just average. Nothing really great. The steamers, pan-roasted trout, spinach salad and believe it or not the stuffed artichoke are really good. The burgers are good, but they used to be much, much better. Not sure what happened to them; people used to drive from North Jersey just for the burgers a few years back. Barnacles has a very friendly vibe; just wish the food was a little better.

Very busy place on the Navasink. We went on a Saturday for lunch and couldn't get a spot at the bar, but managed to get the last table in the bar area. Had steamers for app. And burgers with mushrooms , onions and cheddar sauce. Delicious also best sweet potato fries ever. I had a couple of local beers on tap but next time will have a Mai Tai.

Barnacle Bill's is a real find. It sits down by the river and offers nice views along with fine food. We were there for brunch and the food and the service were excellent. Rumson is a tawny neck of the woods, but Bill's was down to earth and very amicable.

My wife and I went for dinner. The food was very good but the music was off the charts.
The musicians Rob Paparozzi and John Korba were amazing. Like having Blood, Sweat, and Tears and The Blues Brothers at once.

Great busy place, worth the wait for a table, friendly bar staff, very accommodating. Food very very good, had Mahi Mahi was delicious, husband had 9oz steak sandwich, amazing fries(or chips if from UK) . Good waiting staff, pleasant and very friendly.
Right by river and boat docking.
