This is where I learned to eat tomato pie. I am one of 8 Italian-Americans who hates pizza. Chick's wasn't pizza; it was tomato pie. And there's a world of difference between the two. His - and his grandson's - tomato pie is the Gold Standard. It's absolutely perfect. Hudson Street place is gone. :( So is The 'Burg, for that matter. :( But the new place in Hamilton even has a bathroom! Chick and Sophie have to be happy and proud.

Great thin crust pizza! Not a lot on the menu, but there doesn't have to be. The pizza is light and crispy.

Before there were designer pizzas, there were the originals: tomato pies.

De Lorenzo's is one of the old standards that still prepare simple, but delicious, tomato pies the old fashioned way. If you have never tried one, you are not a true New Jerseyan.
