“Very Disappointing!”
Reviewed December 30, 2009

Had heard about the restaurant and made reservations specifically for my birthday. Food was average at best. Service was amateur hour. And not one person even said happy birthday. We are foodies and eat at some really great restaurants -- if we are spending over $100 per person, I expect better.

“Disappointed”
Reviewed August 28, 2009

The salads and dessert were excellent however with respect to the starters and the entrees, the chef tries to do too much and hence does not do justice to the fresh produce which he claims to utilize. Almost all the entrees (at least 7 on the main menu and another 5+ on the "special" list) contain multiple ingredients which contain a "broth" or "vinegrette" - having tried 3 entrees plus one starter so characterized, it appears that the chef blanches the fresh vegetables until needed; sears or otherwise cooks the protein ingredient and then finishes the dish with a sauce (broth, vinegrette) - hence he is able to serve such a diverse menu but the final dish has the effect of a stew. Better that he/she keepsthe components separate and limit the variations on the menu. Also, the wine list, while extensive and very good is so inflated that we decided to just order wine by the glass. (e.g., a Ramey wine we have purchased for about $30+ was $150 on their menu.)

“Wonderful menu, great service and warm atmosphere”
Reviewed July 27, 2009

Six old friends gathered in the bar area for a wonderful meal. The wine list had many great choices. The menu offered interesting combinations, but the waitress immediately let you know that all meals are cooked to order, so if you see something you don't like in the dish (like mushrooms, peppers, etc) just say so! They are happy to make it your way. The duck with raspberry sauce and risotto was wonderful! We all enjoyed our meals. The creme brulee was great, and the rice pudding was the creamiest I've ever had! It was a little pricey, but worth it for the relaxing dinner and the wonderful pianist who was happy to play requests.

“Not Worth the Money Anymore”
Reviewed December 10, 2008

Have been eating at this restaurant for several years and am very disappointed by the recent quality and portion of food one receives, especially considering the high prices one pays for the food. The burgers that once were so big and juicy you could barely wrap your mouth around are now flat, lackluster in flavor and the bun outsizes the burger...if I want mediocre I can go to burger king. This is not the only dish that has suffered....every dish I've had has seen a "cut-back" in quality and portion. Adding more mashed potatoes to my meal is not what I'm paying for. Not sure why the owner has decided to skimp, but he's going to suffer a slow death as loyal customers become disgusted with the quality to cost ratio and leave.
