I was really up for an eclair, but they had no more so early --prime time, really. Poor planning. Nothing else appealed to me.

“C'est Ce Bon!”
Reviewed January 6, 2012

After reading the first 2 reviews with mentions of "Paris" we had to try it. With the TV rather prominently displayed showing college football it killed any strong Parisian cafe vibe but I get it, this is the US and we need our TV! Hey, I am even a college football fan...but would've preferred not having a TV. The shelf along the small tables is a nice touch for more space if you go there for a meal and the larger tables are taken. Would've been cool to put the pastry and sandwich display in the window though, like most do in Paris. As good as the Sook pastries look they would probably pull in some good foot traffic.

The food? We have savory crepes #3 and #5 and they were both amazing! We have traveled several times to Paris and hate that it is so hard to get a crepe here! Now we can! The pastries look like they are right out of a Parisian cafe and the Pear Tart was excellent!

Definitely making a point to visit regularly! The place had a regular stream of traffic for the hour we were there so word must be getting out.

“No need to go to NYC, let alone Paris, for great French pastries!”
Reviewed September 16, 2011

Although newer to the Ridgewood restaurant scene, I can't believe there's only one review of Sook Pastry (but at least it was rated accurately... 5 stars!). We have to fight the urge to go there any less than twice a week (I have high cholesterol) for our bi-weekly fix of their almond croissants which are TO DIE FOR. Their macarons are also superb, being the perfect size - not too big and not too small. No need to go to Laduree or Bouchon in the city - Sook is right here and they're just as good and less expensive! And as previously mentioned by the reviewer "tropix", they have sweet and savory crepes, soups, as well as gelati, bubble tea, and other interesting menu items which prove to satiate even the most discriminating palate. Needless to say, there was a double rainbow yesterday; we followed it and it ultimately led us to Sook Pastry!

“Paris, in Ridgewood!”
Reviewed July 26, 2011

Sook pastries are divine. Made fresh in the kitchen each morning, they are flaky and warm and authentically French. Love the apple turnovers and almond croissants, especially. Fresh crepes made to order are excellent as well, and are available in sweet and savory varieties. Haven't had any of the cakes, but they are beautiful in the display case, most decorated with fresh fruit. Coffee and espresso drinks are delicious. Ridgewood really needed this bakery, and the prices are very reasonable. Love it!
