“Great Breakfast, Bad Location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 6, 2010

The hotel is clean and comfy and parking and wifi are free. If you get a room with breakfast (or are a Hilton preferred member and get breakfast), it is a great deal. Breakfast buffet had nice fruits, good cereals, bagels, toast, omelettes and a hot dish everyday. The omelettes were made to order and the veggies were very fresh. Service at breakfast was good. The restuarant also had good food for lunch and dinner - much better than most HGI. The bar was a disappointment - we were there for 7 nights and they were out of vodka (all brands except one bubble gum flavor brand) they entier time. They also didn't have several of the wines on the wine list. The gym is small but new. The beds are comfy. Service is generally good. The hotel is packed - with business traveleres and tourist school groups. But the hotel is in the middle of no where - you can't walk to any restaurants and it's at least 15 minutes to get anywhere decent.

The Hotel was awesome. Super clean, nice rooms. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great the first day we were there. Second day not good at all, def not worth the $12 pp spent. The quality between the days was a huge difference.
The hotel was worth the price, I would def stay again to do some sightseeing in NYC.

The only thing is if you are staying at this hotel to visit NYC, the buses only pick up every hour. I was told when I reserved the room they pick up every 15 minutes but that wasnt true. Sometimes there is alot of traffic goin into NYC so i can turn a 15 minute ride into even an hour ride. We paid a taxi in NYC to take us back to our hotel twice and it cost us $90 each time. That was the only downfall of our trip but not the hotels fault.

My family and I stayed for during the Nor'easter that took place in mid-March. With the storm damage and high winds, this was one of few hotels that wasn't sold out in our area. The hotel is fairly new and we booked two rooms and we were satisfied overall. My parents room on the second floor (#214) had a smoky smell to it, but the room on the third floor (#331) was immaculate. I always recommend staying as far away from the elevator as possible, but these rooms were well insulated, spacious with microwaves and mini-fridges (which prove vital when traveling with a 19-month old.) The staff was very friendly and the location can't be beat for those looking to travel into Manhattan-the first bus doesn't depart until 10am. Also, a movie theatre is just down the road for extra entertainment. Food options are scarse, but many restaurants deliver and the hotel does have a workable breakfast for $11.95 per person. Having complimentary wireless capability was also a plus. My recommendation to the hotel: the rooms need black out curtains-which is certainly not a make it or break it deal. Our rate was the government rate and was still a great value. We could have stayed at a more reasonably priced hotel, but would have had to pay for the services we needed. Nice staff and plenty of parking. The fitness center was small, but workable for those looking to do a little cardio. The pool was also small, but don't expect to do laps. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I stayed here with a friend and would highly recommend the hotel.

It had not been open for long, and the room had the hardly used feel to it. It was clean and spacious with a lovely view.

We were a little worried that we were too far out from NYC but the bus route took us 20 mins to get into Penn station and cost a couple of dollars.

The breakfast was plentiful and the staff were all really helpful and accomodating.

If you're planning a visit to New York, and don't want to pay the premium of staying in the city, this is a perfect choice

The hotel was very nice and the staff was great. I was traveling alone and felt very safe here. The staff was also very helpful with information. The bus into NYC does not come at the greatest of times, but the front desk clerk printed me directions for a bus stop 5 minutes away (with free parking) where the times were much better.

The breakfast was very good and filling. It had everything you could want in a breakfast. I was able to add it to my room at check-in which made it easier and saved me some money.

It was a great hotel, and I would likely stay here again in the future.
