I had the special which was flounder, lots of veggies and very tasty. To begin I had the special beet salad, delicious. My husband asked if they could make veal francese, and they could and would! The staff were very attentive also.

I'd passed this small restaurant many times without realizing it was there. Parking in the rear of the building makes it easier to go to than many Red Bank restaurants.
It was crowded on a Friday night, so reservations were a must. It is basically a one room restaurant and the noise level is a bit high but not overwhelming. Service was a plus with a friendly server and a team approach to serving food as it became ready. BYO so that helps on cost.
All food was a la carte, so prices can get a bit high if you are not careful. There were several specials. One fish dish was overcooked and so swimming is sauce that it lost its proper texture. The special ravioli was quite good. Candidly, the food rates on the higher end of average, but deserves rounding up.
Overall, San Remo is a friendly, comfortable place with above average food.

We go to the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank quite often & usually frequent a restaurant close by. Since it was a Saturday & we had some time, we decided to try San Remo. It was well worth it!
I had even called in a reservation for 5:30 which as it happened wasn't needed; we were the first to dine but by the time we left it was definitely filling up.
Great food, great service & the restaurant murals gives it a feel of a Little Italy Restaurant!
It's a BYOB which makes it even better!
Check it out, you'll see why!

We were in our way to Red Bank down town in order to have dinner and in the way to Red Bank we saw this off the beating path restaurant, right on the side of Rt. 520 which if you don't know you will pass by. We decided to give it a try and we now now that we were lucky to be able to get a table as this place gets very crowded every night. The place has its own clientele and its mostly people from the area close by, the owner and chef is always around talking to guest and making sure things are in place as far as presentation, taste etc. My wife had a fish and I had some special stuffed cannelloni they had that night. We were delighted with our food from the appetizers to the main course. This place is BYOB and very good. Make reservations otherwise be ready to wait a while for a table. The attire is casual relaxed as is not a fancy restaurant.
