“A fantastic gem, BYOB, a value for any occasion, you won’t be disappointed!”
Reviewed March 26, 2012

I can’t believe this fantastic gem has not been reviewed earlier. We’ve been frequenting Nonna’s for over 10 years. We’ve had casual dinners, celebrated birthdays and anniversaries, even had our son’s college graduation celebration at Nonna’s. Every time we’ve been more than satisfied.

From the moment you enter, Kal (the host) makes you feel right at home. The cozy dining room is tastefully decorated, elegant enough for a special occasion. The hand painted murals on the walls set the tone of a European Courtyard. The fabric and Christmas balls decorating the ceiling add an interesting touch to the décor. Once comfortably seated, Kal returns to recite the extensive list of nightly specials, frequently pulling up a chair to explain how each dish is prepared like an old friend. The staff is attentive and friendly.

The menu is mainly Italian, but I rarely order from the menu. The specials are usually too enticing to pass up, featuring a variety of Italian and French influenced dishes. The chef is accommodating at making changes to any dish to suite your taste. Even after considering all of the choices on the menu and specials, if you can describe what your desire, then Kal and the chef will do their best to accommodate you. Our favorite appetizers are the stuffed mushrooms and eggplant rollatini. We don’t have a single favorite entrée; although the lobster ravioli and veal oso bucco have been memorable. Which ever you prefer, we have found that each chicken, veal, seafood or pasta dinner we’ve ever had an excellent choice.

In terms of cost, each item, including the specials, are reasonably priced. Best of all, it’s BYOB. Considering the cuisine, the atmosphere and the friendly staff, Nonna’s is a value for any occasion. While I don’t know how many times we’ve been to Nonna’s over the year, I do know that we will happily return. Enjoy.
