I found patria on a web search for romantic restaurants and it did not disappoint us. The atmosphere was just right. It was dark enough and there was enough room for the two of us to enjoy our evening without feeling the larger groups around us to encroach on our space.
The guitar player was very good. He came when asked, played well and left. He did not hang over the tables or bother us to play more often than we, or others, wanted.
The service was also just right. Not too fast, not too slow. We enjoyed the meal and everything seemed to come to the table exactly when we wanted it.
We had two drinks each, two appetizers, two entrees and shared a dessert. The drinks were excellent; especially the Pisco Punch which may have been the best I ever had (it is always a treat seeing Pisco on the menu). The portion size of the food was generous without being too large. The favorite of the night was the carne asado tacos appetizer but the ceviche and the skirt steak entrée were also very good. The only thing that keeps me from giving Patria an excellent rating was the Shrimp & scallops entre. This otherwise excellent entrée was marred by a sauce that did not taste fresh or compliment the seafood; although we still enjoyed it after removing the sauce.
