I ate at the Rail House on a Friday evening 8/24/12. After walking in the park with some friends we decided to enjoy the patio at the Rail House where they have live music and a bar. I had never been in the back of the restaurant. It is beautiful! I was impressed with the setup. The band that evening was great. Just two guys playing and singing. The service was good. I do agree that the service is slow. Our drinks came quickly. I noticed that anything from a glass of wine to cocktails started at $9.00 and up. They have a patio menu which consists of appetizers, salads and a burger with all the trimmings. My friend ordered the double lobster tails for $18.00. She enjoyed them but said they were better the first time she had them on the patio. She thought they were a little overcooked. Myself and the other guest had the Rail House Apple Salad with gorgonzola cheese, candied pecans, apples and an apple cider dressing. It was tasty. I would say it was worthy of the $12 but I'll give it to them for the ambiance. For $5 more you can add chicken or $7 for shrimp. So all in all the patio was lovely and a nice place to chill after a work week. Soon they'll be opening up a blues and sports bar next door. They also have a nice brunch I heard on Sunday. I ate there previously when it was owned by David Drake and I think since he sold it he'd be happy with the management now. The place has character and I'd go back to sample some more food.
