Hello and thank you for staying with us and taking the time to write this review. Your feedback is important to us. I am glad to see that you were able to enjoy some of our amenities such as our indoor heated pool and our 24 hour fitness center. On The Bone’s breakfast buffet was designed to have something for everyone. Whether it is fresh fruit at our parfait station or an omelet from our made to order omelet station, we want everyone to be able to have a breakfast that satisfies them. Your comment on the noise level of the elevator will be given to the Chief Engineer to see if we can find a solution for this issue. The restaurant will be revamping its menus, providing fresh and new menu items that are sure to satisfy your taste buds. I invite you on your next visit to retry our dinner service with the new menu. We also offer a great lunch menu as well. Thank you again for your feedback and for staying with us. Enjoy your day and we hope to see you again soon! (^_^)

I stayed only one night, a Friday, was in town with my daughter to visit Princeton Univ. I truly can say it was one of the most pleasant hotels I have stayed in quite a while. The hotel was not only beautiful, well appointed, and elegant, but the staff, from the moment I arrived. was friendly, attentive and hospitable. I really think that this is what is lacking in the hotel industy any more, and I rarely am compelled to write a review this glowing, but I felt I had to. The overall service at this hotel is the best I have seen in a long time. Furthermore, the rooms were large, very clean, very comfortable, and quiet. Great. Wow thank you!

****3.5 STARS***

It would have been so easy for this place to get 5 stars. We got a good rate (around $120) for a one night stay in Princeton. They have a heated indoor pool. They have a workout room. They have big, clean rooms. They have a restaurant -- which, while overpriced like most hotel restaurants -- had a very tasty breakfast buffet, although my burger at dinner was oversalted. And they give you the vaunted DoubleTree cookies!

But my girlfriend and I were extremely frustrated with the complimentary shuttle service, which was one of the primary reasons we chose this hotel. Their website says that they will take you anywhere within a 5 mile radius of the hotel:

---What their website doesn't say is that the shuttle does not do that; we were at an event at one end of the Princeton campus, with our luggage, in 35 degree weather -- and we had to lug it into the DoubleTree's one meeting point on the Princeton campus in Palmer Square. Just not nice, particularly as we were the only people they were picking up! And especially because the route from the hotel to the center of town went RIGHT BY Jadwin gym, where we were watching a game.

--What their website also doesnt say is that when leaving the hotel, if you are not down to the lobby at the precise time the shuttle is supposed to leave, you will get a phone call from the front desk asking where you are. And if you are not down five minutes later, because you know -- you're trying to get ready to go -- after an enjoyable time at their hotel, that you will get a SECOND call from the same white female with blond spikey hair who works at the front desk. Because she doesnt care that she is raising your bloodpressure and screwing up your 24 hours of relaxation with your girlfriend -- damn-it -- she wants you down at the lobby at precisely the time you are supposed to leave. And if you are a few minutes late, she will pester you.

Again - very nice hotel -- but please figure out this shuttle thing. Just too bad that a stupid thing like that could negatively impact my experience at a nice hotel. Thanks to Parag for his good work on Friday night; hope this hotel finds a way to keep him, even part-time.

Greetings, and thank you for your recent stay with us, we truly appreciate your business. We here at the DoubleTree by Hilton Princeton pride ourselves on making our guests feel welcome and at home. We are firm believers in the C.A.R.E. motto, which is to “Create a Rewarding Experience.” I apologize for the inconvenience you experienced while trying to use our complimentary shuttle service. We do generally ask guests to arrive for their shuttle appointment at least 5 minutes prior to the time of departure. This way we can make sure the shuttle departs on time, as we may have other guests using the service as well. We call the room to ensure that every guest that is scheduled for that time is indeed on the shuttle. We do not want to leave anyone behind. Your comments and concerns have been given to the Front Office Manager and the shuttle guidelines and regulations are being reviewed. I invite you to try us again, so that we may leave you feeling just as warm as our cookies. Thank you again for staying and we all hope to see you again soon. (^_^)

The hotel staff were wonderful. The friendliness to the caring attitudes - everything - made this stay so nice. We stayed the entire weekend and every encounter with anyone that was employed by this hotel were professional and possessed a true company spirit for their role at the DoubleTree by HIlton Hotel Princeton. True assets! The hotel itself was very nice and spotless.

I have stayed here a few times, most recently after the Hurricane and the hotel was very busy with people working on clear up work - so it was noisy very early in the morning with them starting their trucks.

Rooms are a nice size and pretty comfortable, like most business hotels. Took a while to get to grips with the right temperature on the Aircon.

Room service food is OK, for whatever reason the food eating in Off The Bone restaurant was much much better.

Bar area OK to get out of the room, it's like a step up area from the restaurant. On my first visit I did not realise it was the bar, I thought it was just an extension of the restaurant when they were busy.

Hotel has a pool, used on previous trips and was OK and open late. There is an office area in the lobby you can use too.

Cookies are the normal for Doubletree, which I am not keen on however I had enough people at the office who were happy to take them off my hands.

Big plus for out of towners is the mini-bus just check the running times and book a seat the night before. I used from the hotel into Princeton most mornings much better than paying for a taxi which was about $25 on the days I had to be in the office early.

Downside is getting out and about without a car.

My two night stay started out fine. Easy check-in, quiet location, nice HDTV. The next morning, there were no issues either. The shower with the Speakman head worked just fine and out the door I went.

Back to the room at night for a quick check of email and back to sleep in a clean comfortable bed.

The issue was on day two (this morning), the shower had painful swings in water temperature. One minute ice cold, the next minute scalding hot. This continued for the entire shower. I tried turning off the shower and turning back on and adjusting the handle. Nothing helped.

I showered as quickly as possible - which took much longer than expected because the temps were so drastically different and it was off to the airport for a morning flight.

Overall not a bad hotel. I've stayed here before and will most likely return. The knock I have with most DTree properties is that they have the in-room air handlers that make it quite noisy in the room as the fan turns on and off.

I can't slam them for for this one issue with the shower, but they need to fix Room 323.

Room Tip: Avoid Room 323 - or at least make sure the water temp issue is resolved.

Great for an overnight but needs a hot tub and a sauna along with either an entertainment room and/or live entertainment to attract a good crowd to make it more exciting, especially if you want to enjoy an extended stay. It was almost too quiet, like we were the only ones there. Also, small fridge in the room would be nice.

Room Tip: Request the "Executive Floor" if you would like a pillow that says, "Sweet Dreams&quo...

Thank you for your recent stay and review of our property. We truly appreciate your business and we want you to know that your feedback will be used to help us provide an even higher level of service! Although we may not have an entertainment room, we are surrounded by plenty of activities. We have two malls, Grounds for Sculpture, an assortment of restaurants and shops, and Princeton University within a five mile radius of the hotel. All of which, you can utilize our complimentary shuttle service for. Please call the hotel directly for the shuttle schedule and guidelines. We are also in between Philadelphia and New York, which would be great for day trips. The train station is also a destination that our shuttle goes to. Thank you again and we hope to see you return soon. (^_^)
