In the last few years a number of sushi restaurants around here have introduced a "served buffet" concept where you order from a menu (usually only slightly restricted from the full a-la-carte menu) as often and as much as you like. The offerings include sushi, sashimi, tempura, terriyaki and the usual accompaniments. Masa Sushi is a new addition to this scene and we tried it Sunday night. Compared to Sushi Palace in Kingston that we have visited many times, it is $3 more expensive for weekend dinner ($24.95 vs $21.95 - and Sushi Palace is even less expensive on weekdays), but in our view it was well worth it. The seating area is far less crowded, the ambiance is much nicer, and the food presentation is far superior. The menu selections and food quality are comparable - possible Masa Sushi was marginally higher quality. If I were still a student I would probably opt for Sushi Palace but for our tastes the peacefulness of Masa Sushi is preferable.
Both are BYOB.
