“Okay on a nice day”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

It's just okay on a nice day. If there are no events to see, it's pretty much just walking around. Try the iPhone tour - nice to have a person talking to you about it. I wanted to know more about much of the experience, but there weren't really any guides or anything. Try going on a weekend when there's an event.

“The site of Washington's Valor under threat”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

George Washington risked his life here, and in an example of heroic personal leadership reversed a retreat, rallied his men, and turned defeat into victory. He did this, literally, as the man on a white horse, in front of his troops and within easy range of the British firing line. The site of this heroic momnet is scheduled to be plowed under, destroyed forever and erased from memory by residential development. The Institute for Advanced Studies wants more faculty housing, so they're going to destroy this piece of the national heritage. Write your congressman, call your senator, don't let this happen. From Trenton to the banks of the Raritan and including the battle at Princeton, Washington led the ragged band of men who, in ten days, changed the world.

“A Historical Diamond In The Rough”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

It comes as a big surprise to outsiders to find out that New Jersey is rich in history. As a Jersey native I'm not thrilled with the reputation my state has earned in recent years thanks to shows such as Jersey Shore and Jerseylicious. However, it is gratifying to remember that Jersey wasn't always defined by Snooki and fist pumping. NJ played a very big role in the Revolutionary War. The beauty and historical significance of the battlefield park will draw you in and keep you occupied for a good part of the afternoon.

“Great Park!”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

Used to think telling people I was from NJ was so much better than telling people that I was from NY, but that was way before the days of Jersey Shore and the Housewives of NJ...now we get such a bad rap :-( So shhhh don't tell anyone about our parks, one better than the next! Loaded with history, culture, holiday events, train rides and spraygrounds, campgrounds and the list is abundand this park is truly no exception! History abounds, natural beauty prevails and a visit is a wonderful way to spend a day with the family guaranteed!!!

“Feel the history in outdoor splendor”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

Fantastic place to wander, just for the natural beauty. Excellent historical information and recreations. If you are just visiting Princeton, it can be mind-blowing to learn about the Civil War history of the area. It is soothing just to walk the grounds.
