We wanted to stay one night at a Point Pleasant motel to plan for next summer. The price on area motels was 79 to 199 a night and these are after Labor Day prices.
I came across the Broadway Court Motel on the Internet and by the pictures was not optimistic as it was the only motel with a non paved parking lot. The website was very basic and nothing in comparison to other motel websites. But, we took a chance....
When we arrived it was nice.. The parking lot is very small and I can foresee problems when the motel is full in the summer. You park right in front of your door. The room was very clean and spacious for two adults. Upgraded vinyl windows, good AC, tube TV with cable, remote and refrigerator. The room was old but well kept. The bathroom was old 1960s but clean. No bathtub, just a porcelain tile shower. We had the most comfortable king size bed. We had two windows in the front and two in the back. The pool is nice and clean but closes early. There is free ice and a soda machine on site.
The motel has multiple-bed rooms and efficiency apartments for larger families. Check the motel website. Its its not listed try
broadwaycourtmotel.com for pictures and rate information.
There is a cafe next to the motel for breakfast and lunch. A three block walk to the beach was not bad without coolers, chairs and such. We just wanted to walk the boardwalk and have cocktails at Martell's Tiki Bar and watch the band.
There are so many restaurants around we noticed while walking that you miss when in a car. All specialize in fish as the area has fleets of fishing boats. There are pleasure boat cruises and we even found a fishing boat we are going to try soon where you don't have to bring anything but yourself as they supply everything.
While walking back to the motel we passed some of the motels I seen on the Internet. They are all nice but a few had people partying loud on the motel grounds which we were glad was not ours. When we arrived at the Broadway Court, it was quiet and we sat outside our room before retiring.
We would love to come here in the summer but the rates are more than double. We paid $79 including all taxes on late September Saturday.
