Description: Spano's Ristorante Italiano is a wonderful little store front restaurant just like you see in Brooklyn, with a quaint interior featuring oversized comfy booths and Italian music to complete the ambiance. The restaurant gets bustling after 6pm, and on weekends there can be quite a wait. The good news is they're open 7 days a week, so you can get the same amazing food on Tuesday without a wait. Speaking of the food, its authentic old world Italian prepared by Chef Joseph Spano. All ingredients are fresh, never frozen...fresh local fish and seafood, the highest quality veal, cut and pounded daily for the Veal dishes, Same with the chicken and eggplant, all prepared fresh daily. Spano's marinara sauce is the original winner of the Boss of the sauce contest sponsored by a local radio station and featuring all of the Shores Italian restaurants, as voted by a panel of judges and the general public. All of our ravioli, cheese filled, lobster, and specialty (like roasted butternut squash, or Osso Bucco) are handmade. They make the dough, they make the filling, and they stuff and cut each ravioli by hand. The portions are oversized, and the prices are very reasonable. They have an extensive menu and use only Certified Angus Beef, many of the dishes can be seen on their Facebook page at spanosristoranteitaliano and they open daily at 4pm. 7 days a week. With homemade desserts like the NY cheesecake, tiramisu, bread pudding and apizza dolce (Italian ricotta cheesecake) and delicious Cappuccino to finish off your meal, you can't go wrong at Spano's!

“"Homemade, flavorful & fresh"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2012

Everytime we visit the Jersey Shore, we have a meal at Spano's! Can't wait to go back! The food is always flavorful and plentiful! Bring your own bottle of wine and an appetite. You must order the hot shrimp molly, fried calamari, seafood fra diavalo, or zuppe de pesce! Don't miss the homemade cheesecake or ravioli!!!

Great service. We had chicken parm, veal parm, sea bass and seafood risotto. Well worth the visit. We will be back. Great that it's BYOB.

“The Best!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2012

The food is soooo good here. The lasagna is the best I have had anywhere, the chicken parm to die for and if the specials include Seabass or Osco Busso go for it! Do not miss the pastachio ice cream for dessert! OMG the best! I eat here at least once a month.

“Go early”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2012

We came in to eat later in the evening and we were one of two tables of people in there. The decor seemed a little dated and I didnt really get that typical Italian restaurant 'homey feel'. The food was pretty good, not great. They were out of mozzarella which was really disappointing, especially in an Italian restaurant. The price was a little high considering the amount of food they give. The waitress wasn't very attentive to us. The staff was gathered at a table a couple back from where we were sitting and they were very loud and obnoxious and just sitting around. It made eating and trying to have conversation with my partner a little difficult. I don't think I would recommend this restaurant.
