“Great Value for Atlantic City with Wonderful Staff”
Reviewed January 18, 2012

We stayed here while attending a convention at the Atlantic City Convention Center. It was about a 10 minute drive, no real traffic on a weekend. The area off Black Horse Pike is somewhat diverse and there are a number of motels on the strip that I would not venture in however The Comfort Inn had a nice location, well lit parking area and backed directly to the water which was very pretty but very cold with the wind whipping off the water. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and efficient; both the day and evening shifts. Our room was located on the 1st floor which I prefer and a short walk from the lobby. The room was average size with quality linens. The beds are definitely doubles not queen. There was a flat screen TV, mini refrigerator and microwave; all of which were a plus for us. The room was very clean. I didn’t find the heating unit loud and it worked very well. I heard no outside noise and rested very comfortably both nights. There was a towel wrapped around the smoke detector; not sure I wanted to know what that was about. The bathroom is a good size however two small negatives were some rust and the room was very cold if you shut the door. The floor was actually icy cold (I’m assuming because we were on the ground floor). If you kept the door open the bathroom temperature was manageable but the floor remained very cold so bring slippers. There was a small amount of rust around the tub drain and steel door which I included with the pictures. There was a bit of sloppy painting and caulking however it was clean so it didn’t bother us. None of these items were bad enough to say anything however if I had a small child and wanted to give them an actual bath I would not put my child in the tub. The breakfast was in reality much better than I anticipated; actually right up there with The Hampton Inn. Breads, pastries, eggs, sausage, waffles, yogurt, fruit, juice, cereal. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate available 24X7. I would definitely stay here again over paying $189.00 to $350.00 a night in the resort hotels. Parking was free as well.

Room Tip: Request a room with a water view.

We picked this hotel based on all the glowing reviews and were dumbfounded by the reality of the place. Front desk had to wait until the front desk clerk finished a call before being checked in without even the acknowledgment that I was standing there. I asked for a waterside room, and was told she didn't know what room numbers those were. The room we got was small, not dirty but had a crummy feel, and faced the loud highway. It is about 4-5 miles from the casinos, cheaper than the casino rooms, and is okay if you just need a place to sleep and shower...and you don't look very close at what you are sleeping and showering in (also hard uncomfortable bed and not very friendly or well trained staff). I would go back to Atlantic City, I would not stay here again no matter how cheap the stay.

Room Tip: EVEN NUMBER rooms have the water view in case the front desk still doesn't know.

We thank you for your comments. We strive to ensure all guests are comfortable and enjoy their visit at our hotel. There are times, when we receive a high volume of calls and staffing cannot handle each person right away. We do apologize for the delay in checking in. We have never received any concerns about the city side noise of rooms as we are at a considerable distance from any road noise. While it is unusual for our staff not to know what side if the building has a bay view, we constantly train and retrain our staff to ensure they meet our customer's expectations.

You could not ask for a better place to stay. We returned to this hotel because we experienced the same welcoming as others have upon arrival. The gentleman at the front desk, Luis, is the reason people return as well as the way he manages this hotel. The hotel is taken care of from the parking facilities to the greeting at the front desk. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, thanks to the housekeeping staff. We spoke to Luis the manager and told us that the staff has been their for years. They are honest hard working people. The lady who takes care of the breakfast area has been there for 14 years. She takes care of the first person who arrives for breakfast to the last. There is plenty of food to eat and Luis welcomes and takes time to talk to all of his guests. There is a shuttle on weekends to the Tropicana, which works out well. We can't wait to return to this Home Away From Home. See you Again Luis on our next return. Keep the light on.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the room on the 6th floor. Nice and Quiet.

I've been going to Atlantic City for many years and this particular hotel is by far the best "Off The Boardwork" hotel as far as value, service and deluxe accommodations. Whether it's been a regular room or a suite, our rooms were always clean, comfortable and beautifully appointed as well as including microwaves and mini-fridges too! They offered a Free Deluxe breakfast buffet (a Real breakfast) which included eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, bagels, pastries, cereals and assorted juices, to name a few. And the private beach in the back of the hotel was definitely an added bonus that other hotels in that area don't offer. The best part of our stay was the fantastic service behind the front desk, especially from the Front Desk Manager Luis who always goes out of his way to make everyone feel at home. As some may have figured out from my previous reviews, it takes a lot for me to give a good review on Tripadvisor, let alone a very good one - This hotel by far continues to exceed my expectations.

And a note to some of those overpriced hotels on the boardwalk - Watch out!

This hotel is super nice and only 3 miles from atlantic city. I loved the view of the bay. Breakfast was really nice. With hot eggs, waffels and sausage. The staff was really helpful. They really want to make your stay enjoyable. The room was way nicer than I expected for the price. The free shuttle was super. Picks you up right outside the hotel. They even did a raffel for a free ipad while I was there. Anyone staying in the hotel was entered. I have stayed on the boardwalk and off the boardwalk. I would never stay anywhere else when going to atlantic city. Plus the boardwalk area is a little scary after dark...... Oh and I think the beds were brand new.

Room Tip: Get a view of the bay

I have been staying here for over 5 years, we live in Virginia and visit with family in NJ. This is our home away from home. we will be back here in three weeks, always warm & welcoming, Staff is great, very pleasant and helpful. Have stayed here thru many renovations and improvements to the now really First Class Hotel. Nice Clean Rooms, Breakfast is great, always hot and tasty. I can highly recomend, and you will never regret your choice. Why pay Higher ( really expensive ) prices when you can stay 5 minutes away from the casinos and know you will always have a nice place to stay.

Room Tip: Rooms on the Bay side have a wonderful View over the water.
