The food is great but they rate their spicyness on a scale of 1-10 and usually even the lower numbers (3-4) are very spicy. This place is tucked away back from the road but worth the trip if you like Thai food.

First and last time going to this restaurant. The curry combo was way too salty for my taste, the seafood was not fresh and portion was way too small. I can easily make my own fried rice with a little bit of beef, egg and tomato. BTW the white and fried rice were not even fully cooked! Pat Thai was okay, but the small portion was just not worth the price. I had better Pad Thai from Lemongrass. No one from my family was full from this dinner...luckily I had some leftover from last night.

Sometimes the best food is found in places you wouldn't expect. This is the case fot the Pat Thai Restaurant in Parsippany NJ. It is a small place anchored next to a local grocery store hardly noticable because it sits back a little at the end of the building so use your GPS if you must. Your reward will be some of the best Thai food you will ever taste. Depending on the time you go the place may be empty but don't let that worry you. The servers are friendly and know the extensive menu very well so they can help you decide on a dish if need be. They also have 8 different spice levels for their dishes so they can accomodate both the mildest and hottest of palates. Pat Thai also has a fre-fix lunch special where you get the soup of the day, a delicious spring roll and your choice of several entrees from $9.99 to $12.95 depending on the meat you pick. The wait for your food is not long as you are inticed by the great aromas coming from the kitchen. The decor is very relaxing and casual. My wife and I frequent Pat Thai often whether we eat there or get take-out. We have taken friends of ours there and they were all very impressed by the food and atmosphere. This Thai restaurant is truly a diamond in the rough so when you pull into the supermarket parking lot have no fear. Go all the way to the right to find Pat Thai. Once you have tasted the food you will always remember how to get there.

Don't be put off by the exterior of this unassuming spot tucked at the end of a small independent grocer in a strip mall area - the food is terrific, cooked by the most energetic and meticulous little Thai ladies I have ever had the pleasure to meet. A lot of experience and care in each dish. Among us we had chicken, seafood, and vegetarian dishes and all were generously portioned, fresh, deliciously spiced, and so yummy there were no leftovers to take home. The menu gives the most explicit information I've ever seen for choosing the spice/heat level of your dish, with levels from 1 to 10 carefully described. Our group had levels from 1 to 5 that came exactly as expected, 1 being over the mild line, and 5 punching a serious vindaloo type heat, not for the faint of heart. Can't imagine who could handle a 10! Everything was reasonably priced. This restaurant is named for the owner "Pat," (as well as a play on Pad Thai) who has an eclectic taste in art and color. The atmosphere is casual and quaint, with very friendly and knowledgeable wait staff. Highly recommended.

Had take-out here while in town for an overnight trip. Because it was take-out I can't comment on the restaurant itself, but the food was really good and fresh. I had the fresh shrimp vegetable rolls, shrimp pad Thai and pineapple fried rice. All were good, but the rice was fantastic! I wouldn't hesitate to go enjoy this Thai choice anytime!
