Ocean View Resort Campground

This may be a great place for people who live in a city environment, but I simply found this place to be extremely crowded. I first started coming here thirty years ago and noticed that it has now become extremely crowded. It kind of reminded me of tailgating with people right on top of you. Not as relaxing or as fun as it use to be. The facility does offer a nice pool, on-premise store, showers, laundry and small lake. Not sure Ill be back, especially on a holiday weekend.

This is the 3rd year we have stayed at Ocean View and our 4th camping trip here. The kids love the freedom they have to ride their bikes and we feel safe letting them go explore themselves! There are numerous parks for the kids, their favorite is the one at the lake on the beach. There are all sorts of activities on the weekends and movies at night during the week for the kids. The staff are friendly and helpful. The camp sites are nice but some are a bit small but somehow we have always managed. Try and stay away from the main area as it can get a bit loud with all the hustle bustle. The pool is a good size, clean and there are life guards on duty. The bath houses are all VERY clean and $.25 gets you 5 min which isn't bad. It is a short drive to beaches, boardwalk, and locations for crabbing. The store is big and has everything you possibly need and more. The seasonal campers are all very nice and helpful as well. Beware of the skunks...there are lots of them; however they really do not bother you just scare the crap out of you when you dont see them walk right under your
chair, camper etc.. We love Ocean View and can't wait to come back next summer!

First, the things we liked about this place: great location for day trips(five minutes to Sea Isle City, 30 minutes or less to Ocean City, Wildwood, just a little farther in either direction gets you to AC and Cape May), very friendly staff, great camp store. Now, what we didn't like: very tiny campsites that afford virtually no privacy, with the exception of maybe 10 or 20 sites on the entire property, extremely narrow roads throughout the property, making pulling in and out very difficult, high-priced, coin operated showers and laundry. This seems to be much more of a seasonal trailer park than a campground, and while we greatly enjoyed our time in Sea Isle, for the high price of this campsite we probably could have gotten a decent motel room or AC hotel room for less money and way more comfort. We won't be back.

We appreciate the review and thank you for staying with us. We have many large sites with generous buffers between adjacent sites throughout the campground. We'd have to see where you were, what equipment you stayed in, and at what point your reservation was made. Typically by the end of April we start running out of large sites, but again, without more information it's difficult to see where we can make adjustments. Feel free to shoot us an email and we'll see what we can do! Thanks for staying at OVR and thank you for the review!

I stayed at the OVR during 4th July week for the first time and there were some many activities specially for the kids that there was never a dull moment. My only complaint is that the sites are too small and barely you have any privacy however the activities made up for it so it was a trade off for me and my reason for 4 rating.

My family liked it so much that we booked another week for Labor Day weekend so we are looking forward for another fun and active week.

Thank you for the review! We have sites of all sizes, I'd be interested in knowing what your site was to see if in the off season there is anything we can do to improve it. Thank you for staying with us and hope to see your family here in 2014!

OVR is a great campground, clean sites and plenty of tree for shadow.
The convenience store is pretty big.
The lake and pool are clean.
safe for the kids
Internet service is not optimal (often disconnect) but we're in vacation.
We saw some skunks during night fire but never smelled it.

We tent camped here for the first time during the 4th of July weekend. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The site was large and close to a very clean and air conditioned bathhouse. We did not know that we would have to pay for our shower ($0.25 pays for 5 minutes), so we were ill prepared for that. Our children enjoyed swimming in the pool and the lake. I did not use the store, so I can not comment on it. We will definitely return for another camping trip.

Room Tip: Don't forget your quarters for the shower.

We used to go to Ocean View Campground when I was a kid. I had so many happy memories there that now that I have a family of my own, I thought we would see if it was as great as I remember. We stayed over the 4th of July week. Check in was quick and we were on our way to a large, level, heavily wooded lot. B-50 was the site we stayed at. We were with my elderly parents who have a travel trailer and they remarked several times on how easy it was to get in the lot and how nice it was that it was so level and laid out well. We had plenty of room for 2 cars, trailer and screen house. The bathhouses were nicer than some of those I've seen in people's homes! It was well worth the quarter for the large, hot shower. I chose to use them over the bathroom in the camper every time. It's better to go at odd times as they get crowded. The camp store was large, well stocked and not too terribly overpriced. The ice cream shop and snack bar were ideal but you'll pay a few cents more for the convenience. The lake was clean and we had a lot of fun there. The pool was always packed. My son loved the tram car and we rode it every night before we returned to our site. My 7 year old also loved his first real taste of freedom. It was a very safe environment and drivers were cautious of children so he was allowed to roam around on his bike with some new friends he made. I was not at all impressed with the arcade. 1/2 of the games were broken, the other half either took your money or were out of tickets. Needs repair. Nice mini-golf and big clubhouse. Only activities during the week were nightly movies, not very exciting but it's within 20 minutes of Ocean City 10 minutes of Sea Isle city so we had plenty to do there. Great location. Getting out on Route 9 during prime hours is a bit tricky. Also had a trailer supply store on site that was great for the injuries our camper sustained in it's travels. Do NOT forget your bug spray, you are in the woods!

Room Tip: Lot's of foot traffic in the sites next to the bathhouses. We stayed about 4 sites away, much q...

Thank you for the wonderful review. It's great to hear stories about guests that came here when they were young and now bring their families. It's these stories that make everyone feel like family and that's truly special. I hope the good memories keep coming and I hope OVR is part of them. Happy camping!
