An ocean county favorite for years and years....very friendly bartenders and servers. Good food (I had the eggplant parmesan on my last visit) and cold beer. On Saturday nights there is usually a guitar player entertaining the guests. A definite must stop if you are in the area.

Their lunch specials are great and the selections vary week to week. They only serve what is fresh, it is one of the reasons we go there at least 2-3 times in a month! Great staff also!!

This is a long time family run and owned restaurant. Great food, casual comfortable atmosphere, even bring the kids! Their pizza can't be beat! Small town, when your done eating walk the 2 mile boardwalk along the water a few blocks down the road.

It's like going back in time25-30 years. the fish is fresh and the Veal is excellent. The cuisiene is Italian down to the
pizza but don't overlook the daily special board with wonderful items like 3/4 lb lobster tails and "whale" size soft shelled crabs.

This local patron family restauant and bar gets packed on weekends with no reservations and NO CREDIT CARDS accepted but they do have an in house ATM.

I have been going to the Anchor Inn for over 20 years. The one good thing about it is it never changes. The one bad thing about it is, it never changes. I thought there would be some changes when the long time owner “Golda” died a few years back, but it has remained the same. There is a big bar and a good size dining room. The food here is inexpensive and great. The chef has been here for quite a while. You know he is around when you hear his distinctive voice in the dining room. My favorite dinner is the Delmonico steak. Not for everyone, as it is not the most tender piece of meat you will eat, but it sure is tasty. And the juice it gets served in could be bottled and sold.
Everything good I have to say about this place is the dining room and the food. Everything bad I have to say about it is the bar. One thing I don’t like is that if you eat at the bar, you get a separate food waitress and then a bartender, so you now have to tip out two people. And sometimes it takes a while to get a waitress at the bar. (But then again, it always takes a while to get a drink at the bar)
So the food is great and the service is great in the dining room, but the bar is another story. I won’t go into too much detail, but here are some issues. The tap beer is not as cold as it should be and you get three inches of foam on a pint. When it settles, you are getting about 2/3 of a pint. At times it takes a real long time to get a drink or a drink refill. And then don’t annoy the barmaids (by annoy, I mean ask them for a drink when they are “busy” talking to someone), as things will get really bad. Another thing that never changes, is the bar help. It should. The bar is full of regulars, so most of them either get better service than the rest or they are just used to it. Oh, they don’t take credit or debit cards. Cash only.
