Owner description: With its quaint storefronts, amusement rides and Music Pier, Ocean City is everything you'd expect from the real Jersey shore. This family-friendly town boasts a two-mile boardwalk dotted with amusements, pizza parlors, and seaside stores.

As boardwalks go this is a very, very, clean and safe one. Amusement rides are limited and can't compare to the rougher resorts like, Wildwood, Sea Side, and the famous Coney Island.

Parking is a bear, but the boardwalk has lots of shopping options and eateries with fun amusements. The music pier has various cultural events, and the beach is God's perfect locale. Beach tags required in season.

I know, I know, a Boardwalk is my most favorite place in the whole world? Well, OK, maybe not, but I truly love Ocean City's Boardwalk and its beaches. In fact, the whole town is a slice of old America. I'm happy the town doesn't sell any alcohol as it keeps the riff raff out of town and keeps it a great family destination. The Boardwalk has something for everyone....everything from a Christmas shoppe to the traditional boardwalk arcades/rides. Make sure you diet for a week before going there, or you'll have to diet for a week after your visit. The pizza, cold custards and other boardwalk junk food are irrestible!! The town is clean and safe. Be sure to check out the shops that aren't on the boardwalk...they're great, too!

the weather was awesome on Dec. 31, 2011. It was in the mid 60's the shops were open and it was so great to be walking the boardwalk next to the ocean in the winter with no coat!

but the sand was great! Of course, there's a charge to get on the beach here, which is why it's so well maintained. The Boardwalk is so quaint and I just love the fudge and taffy shops, the old movie theater, and the pedicabs of course!
