“Best cheesteaks in OC!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2012

Beef or chicken cheesteaks......the sandwiches are huge, they don't skimp on the meats and the quality is very good. We've also had their hoagies and they are really good. Order ahead of time, it is a small place and a little disorganized when you walk in. This is a great take out option when you are staying for a week and want a quick night's dinner after being at the beach all day.

“Very good food, in a disorganized setting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2012

The food at Voltaco's is very good - the cheesesteaks are served on soft yet firm bread, filled with tender steak and abundant cheese. Italian specialties like eggplant florentine are also very well done and with good portions for the price.

The good food is delivered with some limitations, however. Its take out only - no delivery, and there are a few picnic tables on the side of the building as the only on-premises seating. Also, they only take cash, no credit cards. And the ordering and pick-up system is chaotic, to say the least. On my most recent trip, they were running out of food and had stopped taking phone orders, at 8pm on a Saturday night.

“Great hoagies and friendly staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2012

I always come here for hoagies, and this year I tried some other sandwiches as well. I like the crusty bread here better than some other places in town where the bread is slightly mushy. But it's not too crusty, especially if you get a hot sandwich so it softens slightly while wrapped up. I can recommend the regular Italian hoagies and especially the cheesesteaks, which are generous with the meat and the sauteed onions. I tried the pork sandwich with roast peppers and spinach --- it was okay but doesn't hold a candle to the others. I stay right near a Sack O Subs shop which is fine, but I'll usually drive 48 blocks to Voltacos instead. There can be a wait at the shop if it's busy, so you can call ahead and then pick up.

“Great Food. Disorganized Setup. Long Waits”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2012

I've purchased food from Voltaco's for 15 years each summer. We typically order from them 3 times per season. Inevitably, we have a 50 minute wait to pick it up and then another 20 minute wait when we get there. Their biggest problem is that after being in business for decades, they still have no system for picking up food that was pre-ordered versus people that walk in and order and wait for their food. it is SO disorganized, with people constantly butting in line and counter staff forgetting you are their waiting even after you have checked in. The staff is often overwhelmed, but that is because of the sheer number of orders they have and how busy they are.

We keep going back though because the food is so good. It really is. There are many things my family and friends like especially the following:
-Chicken Parmesan
-Most pasta and meat dishes
-Cheesesteaks/Chicken Cheesesteaks/ etc.

It is really good and I'd recommend it - especially if you can order off of peak hours. It's best to order between 2 and 4PM or after 7 PM. Even then, there'll be a wait.

“The Best Cheese Steak”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2012

Having grown up in Ocean City I can tell you that Voltaco's is bar none the best cheese steak on the island. I literally have eaten hundreds. The meat they use is really good quality and the bread is wonderful. The cheese is the best. Make sure you call ahead. You will have to wait. It is worth it. Buy the whole not the half you will eat it all!
