We host so many celebrations and anniversaries at this Inn, from 1st to 6oth. The staff wonders how high the number can go. Congratulations and thank you for your review.

Beautifully appointed, well cared for B&B. We stayed in the Cordoba. The room was a little tight, but it was atmospheric to sleep in the "gable". Lovely to have access to the outside deck. Bedding was very comfortable. Room exceedingly clean. Had a peaceful, quiet night's rest. Breakfast was very generous in the am. Afternoon Sangria and watermelon wonderful treat. Host kindly let us stay on Sunday morning in the dining room as I had to get some computer work done before we left for the day.

This was my second time at the Inn but this time we stayed in a one bedroom apartment. It was so lovely and comfortable. We even had a small table and chairs outside on a patio. We had an enclosed porch for our bikes and beach chairs and umbrellas. We had our first night on the roof top deck with pizza and beer. And our breakfast everyday was delicious. The dining room is so pretty.

It's a great location and Val is a wonderful innkeeper. I will definitely go back again.

Room Tip: No elevator and there are three floors. Request the ground floor if you have an issue with steps.

Upon arriving & seeing the Villa Portofino, I was in total shock! Walking in the porch, was disgusting, the carpet was filthy along with the windows. The carpet inside was soaking wet and filthy, the kitchen floor was no better. Ceilings are extremely low, giving a feeling of claustrophobia. Beds were comfortable & breakfast was good, staff was accommodating with breakfast. I booked this for my family, thinking it was a clean & luxuries B&B, to my surprise it was not. We also had my grand daughter who is 21/2& she said she didn't like our shore house.! We also had people ( a couple of times) walking in on us, thinking it was the office .there is no office.
We certainly will not be returning nor will we recommend this property

Room Tip: Do not book the Villa Portofino, maybe the rooms inside the main building are better.

Reviewer stayed a week at the 2-BR Villa Portofino under a short-term lease agreement. Unfortunately, the lease was understated by at least $2k, which mistake we spotted and quickly corrected to the original amount. Reviewer grudgingly accepted (it was clear she liked our mistake better) but we felt her antagonism from that moment on. In a separate email to us, she tells us we are the “worst.” I responded by email which I excerpt here relevant to comments she makes:

On wet carpet : “I made a thorough inspection of the apartment before check-in. The apartment was vacated at 12 noon, the day of your arrival. I ordered the carpet to be shampooed immediately and we extracted as much wetness as possible, hoping to dry it off by 3 pm check-in.  I apologize that it continued to be wet, but I am sure your criticism would be far more stinging had we left the carpet in the condition the last tenant left it. After checkout, I inspected the apartment again to verify kitchen floor comment you had made during the stay and found it to be satisfactory.”

On kitchen floor: “As we always do in the entire Inn, we sweep and wet/dry swifter bathroom and kitchen floors. I saw my staff do this while another shampooed the living room carpet. We could have done more if you wanted us to, but I am told that you did not want us to do anything else to the kitchen floor.”

On disgusting porch: “Porch carpeting is of the outdoor type. Furniture and carpeting are designed to be ruggedly used by occupants subject to heavy beach sand and rain showers. It is certainly hard to extract all sand once embedded and the window tracks get quickly muddled with an afternoon downpour, which we have had a lot of.” There is no unusual soiling, dust or dirt on the tracks on my inspection.

On Design and construction: “Many customers visit the apartments before they book a week’s stay and 40% of them re-rent.” The Villas are ideally lit and online pictures depict the space accurately. Claustrophobic is subjective, and may be related to how much time one spends in a certain spot.

We will post appropriate signage on the Villa Portofino to minimize passersby mistaking it for the Inn’s office. We apologize for the disturbance.

My husband and I spent Labor Day weekend 2013 at the Atlantis Inn. From the moment we walked into the beautiful living room at 9pm, we knew that we made the right choice. Sitting out on the coffee table were delicious cookies and lemonade. We had the room on the first floor which was the most reasonably priced room. It was well appointed and actually was a very quiet room for our brief stay of 4 nights.

The next morning, we went to the gorgeous breakfast room for a first-class breakfast. We've stayed in many B&Bs and inns and have never had such a delicious breakfast...anything you could want for breakfast. Besides all of the continental offerings, we were given a menu w/choices of omelets, waffles, french toast, bacon, sausage etc. It was such a filling breakfast that we never ate again until dinner time!

The staff is warm and friendly - Michael the manager is wonderful and saw to our every need. Val, the owner introduced himself and was right there pitching in with breakfast. Everyone was most gracious which led to the overall ambiance of the inn.

They have a rooftop and had a bonfire one night which we had to miss. We just loved our stay here and would definitely go back again. We have been disappointed before in Ocean CIty inns, but now that we've found the Atlantis, we'll always stay here.

I noticed people complaining about the parking in other reviews. Are you kidding me? They were lucky that the inn has anything reserved b/c there are NO parking spaces in OC! We were very fortunate to get one of the reserved spaces. There isn't one thing to complain about here. You won't go wrong if you stay at the Atlantis! Thanks Val and Michael!

Room Tip: Don't be afraid to get the first floor room. It was very quiet!

Thank you for comments, especially on parking. The Inn subsidizes the parking spaces to ensure there will be a spot for its guests, as you mentioned. we are glad we met your expectations.

We spent two nights at the Atlantic Inn in July, and it was just a perfect weekend, The Inn is perfectly situated, literally a block form the boardwalk and beach, the rooms are beautifully appointed, and the breakfast is delicious, served on the wrap around porch. The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere just super. There is even a roof deck where you can go enjoy the sunset after a lovely relaxing day. We are already planning our return!

I focused on your comment "...the atmosphere just super."I believe the key to enjoying one's stay is to see the bigger picture - the destination, location and the aura. Thanks for sharing your viewpoint with others.

My family and I love Atlantis Inn for many reasons - its remarkable history, gracious owner, friendly and helpful staff, outstandingly beautiful decor, lovely villas (we rented one for a week) with gorgeous linens, wonderful breakfast, great tasting sangria in the afternoon, movie collection, etc. It was first class all around! We look forward to returning next summer.
