“Clean and perfect for a few nights @ the shore”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2011

Our family of 5 (3 children under 10) stayed 3 nights in a room with two double beds and a cot. The motel is older but the common areas, our room, and bathroom were well maintained and very clean. The beds were comfortable and the linens were clean and newer. Our room 305, had a semi private balcony and the room itself had a desk(with free wifi), a table with 2 chairs and a newer 35 inch flat panel on the wall. The pool was adequate and had plenty of chairs including a few tables with umbrellas. They also have bike rack, outside showers, small 2-3 game game room with a ping pong table and a light duty pay ice machine. The parking can be tight and is spread between multiple lots around the motel. I would definitely stay again except for the fact that the beach is very crowded at that section of ocean city.

Room Tip: The Ocean Ave side of the motels has semi private balconies but is away from the pool.

We decided to get away from the heatwave, felt more by us on the mainland, and called The Forum to see if any rooms available that night (found out that the web doesn't show anything less than 3 night bookings- but just says "unavailable"). They did and "Holly" was very helpful, friendly and professional both on phone and at reception. Check-in 2p, check-out 12n, with no late check-outs. We arrived at 1p and checked in, room not ready (they guarantee 2p, the reason for no late check-outs, but if room is ready they will give you early) but could park on property, get our 2 beach passes ($10 cash refundable deposit each), and use pool, showers, etc. We were there for the "two ticket thurs rides" so headed to Gillians 1 til 4. Room ready upon return. It had a little heavy perfumed cleaning product odor, but opened both doors (room 308 and several others have interior hallway door from elevator as well as exterior walkway door on other side of room overlooking pool with stair access to pool, game room and several decks) and aired out quickly. Room was large and clean, albeit not "new". Pool was clean with lots of friendly people/families sitting at tables with umbrellas or on the lounge chairs. pool closes at 6pm, but was told if really hot weather, they keep open later. We went to boardwalk, so don't know if they stayed open later or not. We had a nice breakfast at the restaurant on property and spent the morning poolside (unusual for us as we are always at the beach, but the water was cool, clean and refreshing in that heat). We checked out just before noon, received our $20 cash back for the two beach tags, and were told we could continue to enjoy the property and remain parked where we were for as long as we liked. We were really impressed by the friendly and helpful attitudes of all the staff we encountered and look forward to another "getaway over the bridge" in the future!

The positives include the location to the boardwalk, the friendly staff and the pool. The negatives are the outdated rooms (1970's), darker hallways, street noise, cost +200/night.

IMHO, the hotels/motels are all over priced for the value received. We checked out the Port O Call and others and I can honestly state that The Forum was the better value as compared to the others - for what's that worth.

Another awesome stay at the Forum. Great location close to both the beach and boardwalk in the center of town. This time we stayed in a suite. Great room! Awesome pool and very convenient coffee shop located right at the hotel. Very convenient for a quick breakfast or lunch! Can't wait to return next year!

This has become a family trip, we have stayed here every year for at least ten year's for the car show in September. It is a typical shore motel but it is clean and well kept. We have recently been getting a rollaway bed as well and there is still plenty of room for the table. It seems to be going up in price a bit every year. They have a very nice pool where they have a poolside lunch service. And each room has a place out front with a few chairs where you can hang out at night and wathc the world go by. The bathroom has a nice shower and one of those nifty old timed drying things on the wall. Each room also has a refrigerator and microwave and oc course a cable t.v., They have a small area with a washer and dryer and also a small game room with some arcade games and ping pong.

Room Tip: If request things like a rollaway bed or certain room but be sure to remind them on check-in.

Booked the Forum in for a late minute weekend trip and was glad with the choice. The hotel staff was very nice and the room was clean and comfortable. Located just a block from the boardwalk was great, though we did have to walk down a few blocks to get to the beach location we prefer, but not a big deal. The Pool was great and clean used it only one day since the second a group of kids decided they would use it all day to race each other and didn't want to give it up, but again, wasn't a big deal since they seemed to be having more fun in the pool then I would have had.

Overall a great place to stay and will be back later.

Great hotel...we stayed over the July 4th wknd. Not the cheapest in town, but the pool is nice, staff pleasant and helpful. The room was clean however in need of a remodel in the bathroom. Perhaps this old style of motel is what people want when going to Ocean City. They also loaned us beach tags which was very helpful. Kids loved Ocean City and the fool along the boardwalk is so good. Forum is one block away so a truly perfect setting. You won't be disappointed. We are from California and will be back next summer.

Room Tip: I would recommend a room close to the pool.
