“Best Motel in The Wildwoods”
Reviewed September 10, 2011

This is my favorite motel in the Wildwoods. I have been staying here on and off for the last 10 years and just stayed here for 17 nights on 5 different weekends this year starting Mother's Day weekend and ending with Labor Day weekend. It is right off of the top of the boardwalk in North Wildwood. Cathy, Frank and Natasha keep a well maintained motel and it is very clean and appealing. Unlike a lot of motels in the Wildwoods, they have ceramic tiled floors in all of the rooms which makes sense when you are staying at a shore motel. No worry about damp, moldy rugs! As I'm getting older, I am less tolerant of kids running all over the place. Even though there are lots of kids that stay here, they are never a problem and are not out late at night making noise as they are in other motels that we've stayed at in the Wildwoods. The pool is very clean and is kept at a comfortable temperature throughout the season. Cathy, Frank and Natasha are very friendly and it is a pleasure to stay at this motel. We usually stay in Room 313 and enjoy the view of the top of the boardwalk and the ocean view. The motel is convenient to the beach, too. Can't wait until next year when I come back again to this wonderful motel.

We returned to the Condor motel again this year for our North Wildwood beach vacation. We like the Condor for three reasons: Cleanliness, Convenience and Comfort. We were not disappointed. This year we rented the 3 bedroom condo across the street from the main hotel which is owned and operated by the Condor. What makes this so great is you get the roominess and amenities of a full condo, plus the housekeeping services and pool usage as you would at the motel. You don't have to bring sheets or towels or make the beds; the housekeepers come across the street and do it for you. The full size kitchen with dishwasher is very nice, plus a washer and dryer which are only shared by 2 condo units is also a great feature. A nice rear private deck with table and chairs made for great outdoor dining and a small balcony off the living room was a good spot for relaxation with a morning cup of coffee. The best thing about the condor and this condo is the location, just a 1/2 block from the beach and boardwalk. A nice added feature was 2 off street parking spaces, an outdoor shower and a gas grill for exclusive use. If you like staying in a condominium but what the services of a motel, this is the place you want. We made our reservations for next year. Kathy, Frank and Natasha are owner/operators who manage and operate an excellent motel/condo's which are conveniently located and reasonably priced.

We stayed at the condor for 5 nights and it was incredible. The rooms were SUPER clean and had everything we needed. The doors were security doors which made us feel safe. We had an ocean view room and were feet from the boardwalk and beach. The owners and staff were friendly and there was a free coffee shop. I will be staying there in the future. I recommend it 100%

Every year we spend a week in Wildwood and this year we took a chance and stayed at the Condor. It was one of the best things we have done. Janet and Frank are very friendly. We rented the three bedroom apartment. It was really spacious , had everything we needed and most importantly it was very clean. I must say it is the cleanest place we have stayed in Wildwood and we are looking forward to staying there next year.

Room Tip: We stayed in the three bedroom apartment and it was awesome. It was like our own home. It was very...

Had a great time at the Condor. This was our first stay here and we definitely enjoyed it. It was a very "family-oriented" place which I loved. The pool was always filled with kids and all of the families were so very nice. The rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. My only recommendation would be to have some hooks on the doors so guests can hang towels, etc. Other than that it was a great experience and we look forward to staying again!

My family recently rented two rooms at The Condor for our 5 day beach vacation.

The Pros--check-in was uneventful and relatively quick. The rooms were ready, and they were clean enough. Yes, there was a paper mat for a bath mat--a previous reviewer complained about that--but to me, that's part of the relatively inexpensive price for these rooms. Maid service was very good. We found nothing gross in the rooms---no bedbugs, no insects of any kind, and, except for a tissue behind the nightstand which I wouldn't have known was there unless I plugged in my phone charger, no remnants from previous occupants. The tv worked, with plenty of channels; the AC in my room worked beautifully.

And, even though there is no elevator---our rooms, one on the 2nd floor and one on the 3rd, were fairly easy to get to, as there are multiple sets of (outside) steps going to the three levels. The pool was generally clean, though I agree with previous reviewers that some people attempt to hog the best seats by "reserving" them with towels etc---all day/night long. But that is the fault of rude people, not the fault of the owners/managers of the place. Finally, parking was fine--we had a spot, in fact the same spot, every night of our stay.

The Cons--Things the website does not tell you....There is an ice machine, but you have to pay for the ice! In all of my experiences in hotel/motel stays, even beach stays, I have never had to pay for ice. Furthermore, on the first night, when we REALLY needed ice badly after a long, hot, and exhausting drive, the ice machine didn't work (could've been empty---still, there was no ice to be had). Worse yet, though 'refrigerators' are supposed to be in each room, and I will admit that mine had one, it was teeny-tiny and the freezer compartment was essentially for show only---i.e., it was thickened with ice and the one ice cube tray in there barely fit. So, if I did buy ice, I had nowhere to keep it cold.

Also: a previous reviewer says that there were "too many rules" here re noise, etc...perhaps these days the owners have become more lax regarding the rules. For example, one night, while I was sitting on the deck trying to enjoy the sunset, both that floor (the 2nd) and the 3rd were overrun by 4 or 5 kids---ages probably 4 to 12 or so---racing up and down the steps, hurling curses at each other, and generally being a nuisance. At one point, one of them was careening back and forth on the 3rd floor with a baby in an umbrella stroller---I must say,my heart in my throat, I was just about ready to call the owners, but then the kid/baby disappeared. Oh, did I mention, the whole time the kids were running around creating semi-havoc, their parents were nowhere to be seen? Perhaps the owners need to begin reinforcing The Rules again, if not for any other reason but Safety--to me, it is not a vacationer's job/responsibility to keep an eye on such things.

This is not a terrible "con," but it's quirky for sure: The Condor's website mentions that grills are available. They are, but you either have to search for them, ask for them, or have someone tell you where they are. Fyi, they are on the 3rd level; you can't see them at all from other levels/rooms, you just have to find them---which is actually not that hard to figure out, because if you're sitting outside like I was most nights, you'll notice all of the people running up the steps with plates of chicken, burgers, veggies, and other cookout fixin's, and then back down for either something they forgot or with the cooked food.

Would I stay at The Condor again? If I had to, that is, if there was nothing else available. But next year, I'll be trying out somewhere new.

The Condor was very close to the soccer fields our son played on each day. It was also one motel off the boardwalk, making it convenient.
The pool was warm for the kids, the rooms were clean, and Cathy was always around to answer a question or find a solution to a situation.
We loved being poolside!
We will be back.

Room Tip: Having the two rooms allowed for two different tv stations to be watched by kids and adults.
