“Okay food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2014

We went for the dinner buffet and were seated right away. The buffet is in the front of the restaurant right near where you enter and exit the building which does not really make sense. You can also only access it from one side. So it was very crowded and hard to get food. It was very clean. Food was average, tasted like stuff toy could get in a high school cafeteria. Maybe breakfast is better.

“decent breakfast but dinner not good”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2014

This is our second time going to Red Oak Restaurant for the breakfast buffet (we went on our 1st trip to Wildwood last year too) and again we thought the breakfast was pretty good..no complaints on breakfast..Good western omelet type eggs, good home fries, good bacon and sausage. They even have 2 kinds of sausage turkey and pork..They brought me buttered toast..The pancakes, waffles and french toast are fine..The coffee is good..Overall my whole family liked the breakfast..We went back again this year for the dinner buffet and again did not like it again..It looks good when you walk in and view the items...like things you would typically like to eat..I just did not like the quality of the food..The roast beef and ham I have had better quality..I did not like the ravioli or the mac and cheese..I did not like the meatballs and the list goes on..If you are picky about quality of food then you might not like it..I guess it is good for the price u pay..If I go back to Wild wood I will not eat dinner at a buffet..

“Good Food, Good Times, Good Vibes - All You Need For a Day at the Beach!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2014

Wildwood itself has become a haven that thrives on blatant support of habitual marijuana use, as well as "thug life" and "aren't guns cool?" (if in doubt of this statement, just walk by any of the boardwalk shops and check out the shirts available. You will also notice quite a few shops also selling blown-glass marijuana pipes as well! Yay, smoke up, potheads! Not all of us need a leaf's "benefits" to get through the day!). *ahem* Back to the review..

The Red Oak Restaurant turned out to be one of the best things about our recent trip down to Wildwood. We had seen the ads on benches and the like on the boardwalk, but my wife and I weren't 100% sure where we wanted to eat.

After peeking inside, the owner (manager?) encouraged us to come inside and look, as we informed him we had never been before and weren't sure. Well, everything sure looked good, and neither of us have ever been able to walk away from somewhere friendly and accommodating.

The food was good and tasty, offering a more family-friendly, simple feel. Everything tasted fresh and not greasy at all, even the chicken tenders were grease-free! The mashed potatoes were homemade, not from a box. And the freshly-sliced beef and ham were delightful, not to mention *very* lean!

With the boardwalk's image changing into the current "Ain't pot cool?" and "Look at my pistol, ma!" kinda attitude, it's comforting to find a down-home, friendly place like the Red Oak Restaurant!

“Reasonable prices for average food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2014 via mobile

We decided to give this place a try after reading mixed reviews. It is really nothing special. There were a few things we liked on the buffet, the fried shrimp, spaghetti, chicken tenders and chocolate cake. The crab cakes, ribs and pudding weren't so great. It was $75 for 4 adults and 1 child which isn't bad but Golden Coral has better food for the same price. From what I've read Wildwood is really in need of a good buffet. This one isn't it, we won't be back.

“Good food, good price!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2014 via mobile

We eat at the Red Oak every time we go down the shore. The food is good and there is a good variety of food as well. There are a few down sides like you only get one refill for soda and the cups are not that big and since some of he food is salty and/or fried, we needed more to drink then two cups of soda. Also, they should have the buffet tables setup where people can be on both sides because the line gets very long when they're busy. The only other thing is that they do not have the greatest selection of desserts. There's only some pudding and cake squares. Otherwise, this is a good place to bring you family because theres a good variety and kids under 4 eat for free!
