Ok - let's be honest. If you're staying here, it's because you don't want to pay $300+ per night to stay in NYC. That's our situation. For half the price, we stayed here. No complaints. To get to NYC each day, you have the option of taking a shuttle that stops at the hotel (@ $6 per trip per person each way) that drops you off near Times Square. This is a good and comfortable option, but not convenient (only a few times available).
Another option is to walk up the hill behind the hotel and grab a NJ shuttle to NYC along J F Kennedy Ave. They come by every 5 minutes. $3 per person. Gets you into NYC in about 15 minutes and drops you off in the bowels of the NYC Port Authority terminal. Interestingly, we didn't mind this at all. We really got a flavor how people who work in this city live - this was the "bus" that takes the NJ folk to work in NYC. It's simple and inexpensive. And the drivers were always helpful and friendly.More
