The Wooden Duck is a large, comfortable home nestled on a quiet, wooded road in the Kittatiny State Park. The first time I stayed there, I was struck by how loud the silence was. No car horns, no sirens, no noise at all. It was glorious. Karl and Beth greeted us and treated us as welcome friends and gave us full range of their home.

We walked through the woods, lazed in the living room, played board games in the family room and slept in a beautiful bedroom. We woke up the next morning to fresh coffee prepared by someone else, a gourmet breakfast cooked by someone else and the dishes washed, again, by someone else. For me, the chief cook, dishwasher and house manager, this was a very big deal. It didn't feel at all like staying at an Inn. It was even better than that. Karl and Beth make you feel you're staying as friends.

I left feeling spoiled, nurtured and nourished. When there are those days when it makes no sense at all to stay in the city, I intend to return to be greeted again by such warm and gracious people.

We had a lovely stay at The Wooden Duck. It is situated in woodland and has an abundance of wildlife - especially at breakfast time when the bird feeder is a focal point!

The wooden duck is a great get a way. If you want peace and quite this is the place to be. Beautiful settings, comfortable accommodations and very wonderful hosts. The breakfast was very delicious and fulfilling. We will definitely be back very soon. Thank you.

My first experience at a B & B was a wonderful one! Begining with a courteous, cordial greeting and 'tour' of the house and room and ending with a first class breakfast served in a lovely dining room overlooking a relaxing outdoor viewI had a great time. A surprise bonus: assistance, advice (and several menus from local eateries to look over) and a call to make a reservation for dinner - it made dining out in an unfamiliar area comfortable as well. The room was more than expected in amenities and I certainly would recommend this wonderful place and look forward to coming back for another visit.

We were very pleased to find a nice place to stay in this area, because we need to visit family there, and there is very little in the way of hotels. This is a very nice option.

We were looking for a place to stay in northwest Jersey for one night and found The Wooden Duck on the web. What a great find. It is a wonderful country house that is warm and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful in fall colors and you get to enjoy that view as you enjoy a tasty breakfast. Karl has devised a squirrel proof bird feeder for additional entertainment with breakfast.

There were many places to sit, read, or talk. Our room was large and spotless, with a sofa , tv and wine glasses! The bed was very comfortable with just the right amount of covers.

A state park with hiking trails is across the road. Lafayette Village which is close by has lots of shopping and antiques.

Our only regret was we stayed just one night.

My partner, Kim, and I had a wonderful trip to see the fall leaves of NJ at the Wooden Duck in NJ. The leaves have just begun to turn and should be beautiful in the coming weeks. The Inn was very modern and clean, nothing like some of the musty old inns we have been to. The hospitality was wonderful and the owners and staff were very accomodating. Breakfast was fabulous. Sheradon's on the Lake had a very diverse menu and gorgeous views of the lake and fall leaves. JC's was a great steak place in Newton. We really enjoyed Space Farms and hiking the numerous trails...
