“Great Place”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

Very nice experience. Went to the Trinity Lounge for our anniversary dinner. Generous portions
of food. Jarod, our server was very friendly and attentive. Owner found out it was our anniversary and offered us a free desert. Great atmosphere, you can almost forget you're in Newton. We'll be going back soon.

“Omg, the best freaking duck entree I've had in years!!!!!”
Reviewed May 3, 2014

I don't understand these other comments. The atmosphere is wonderful - beautiful old building with lots of charm. Service was excellent. Duck entree was THE best! And price tag very reasonable. You have got to try this place

“Good Food Clip Joint”
Reviewed April 22, 2014

Tried Trinity in March 2014. Thought they did really well with seared tuna (super rare) and scallops. Realized afterwards that they had overcharged about $20 for a bottle of wine. Well, mistakes do happen. Went back tonight (22 June). Service was again lackadaisical (no water refills; had to pour our own wine; server rarely in evidence though the restaurant was nearly empty). Food was good to excellent. Had a genuinely first-rate duck salad (lots of duck and greens for only $15); decent Asian lettuce wraps with pork(?) and fish tacos; excellent shrimp dish; super baked goat cheese. Ordered a bottle of St. Michelle Chardonnay ($26) on menu or $8 by the glass. When the bill came the wine was charged at $45. I pointed out the error and the server brought an emended bill with the correct price (but no apology). Twice is enough. We will not return. Too bad: the food is surprisingly good for a town like Newton, and the prices are very reasonable: $8.95 for each of the four tapas dishes. If you go, CHECK YOUR BILL.
