The Great Divide Campground

We stayed for our first time at the park this weekend in June for the first time using our new travel trailer, and could not be happier with the whole experience at the location. From the friendly staff at the office to the very helpful maintenance people. They were so eager to help and so hospitable. They have the cleanest bathrooms we have ever scene in a campground. The sites are large and most are secluded from others by the natural landscape. The clean and refreshing pool starts at 3 feet, gradually deepens to about 9 feet and has a diving board. The lake has complimentary paddle boats and they had lifeguards on duty. The environment was mostly families, young and older, with their children. It's a perfect place to come and relax and we can't wait to return.

From the moment you pull up, you realize the Great Divide is not your average campground. Beautifully carved wooden sculptures greet you all over the grounds. To say the grounds are beautiful is an understatement. The owners and their staff keep this place impeccably maintained. We had arrived right after a big rainstorm and had just pulled up to our cabin. No sooner did we unload, than they were already on site spreading gravel in the areas that had mud. This type of attention to detail wasn't an isolated incident as we saw them frequently during our stay...delivering firewood, clearing fallen branches, or just driving through to see if we needed anything.
Whether you opt for the primitive tent camping, RV or cabin rental, there's something for everyone. Each spot includes electricity, toilets and showers (clean!) are located all over for convenience, the general store has essentials you may have forgotten and the GD staff has activities planned for all family members.
I'm glad I found this place and will be coming here for many years to come.

Room Tip: Take advantage of the cabin rentals if you're looking for a "glamping" option

I am an avid camper and every year I would scope out different campgrounds (PA, NJ, & Upstate NY) looking for the perfect place where I would want to return faithfully. I finally found it! The Great Divide offers all I look for plus some. To start with, the owners & staff are such wonderful, friendly, ppl. that truly want to accommodate each & every guest.

The campgrounds are well maintained and so are all of their facilities. They offer many different accommodations such as beautifully maintained campsites & RV rentals. You are also welcome to bring your RV if you have one. I like to rotate and book tent sites for camping out the old fashioned way and I rent the RV when I have elderly family member's who want to join in on the great experience but are to not up to par to sleep in a tent. The RV rental offers a full range kitchen to include a gas stove & stove top, sink, microwave, full sized refrigerator, table & chairs, sofas with pull out sofa beds, TV, full bath, one full size bedroom, and a duplex loft sleeping area for the kids!

Other campground amenities include a store (where you are bound to find anything you need or may have forgotten to pack), an Olympic sized swimming pool, a basketball court, a life size chess/checker board, a beautiful lake with paddle-boats, a stage/lounge area (lounge area during the day to include tables, sofas, & even rocking chairs) which is sometimes used as a stage for concerts in the evening during holidays and some weekends, a beautiful playground for the kids and even a dog park for your furry family members! I also love the fact that they have a separate barn house where they hold activities to include breakfast (for a small nominal fee) crafts, activities, & even cookouts on the huge lawn area which faces the lake and stage.

I highly recommend this campground for large groups, small groups, couples and families! They are guaranteed to not disappoint! I just stayed for 3 nights and 4 days during Memorial day weekend and I am so excited to return this July 4th. See you there!

We went there for Memorial weekend and again this past weekend June 13-15. I have been to this campground as a child 30 yrs ago and I remembered the grounds were beautiful so I was pleasantly surprised to see this hasn't changed any. It is under new management now of course and what a fantastic job they do. You can tell the staff and management enjoy their job and make the guests feel welcome. As we were hooking up our site a staff member drove around and asked if we needed any kind of help setting up or anything and the whole time we were there both weekends the staff is very much around to help if needed. The first night we got there on Memorial wknd we couldn't find our site so a staff member took us right to our site and helped us get it backed in. The campground is kept very well maintained and lots of activities for the kids. We went to a Mad scientist show on sat. night which our girls enjoyed and they always are giving away some kind of treat at their activities which the girls loved. Memorial wknd is was popsicles and this past wknd it was some candy. That is a very nice touch. The lake and beach is gorgeous and loved the paddleboats. Also we really enjoyned the huge standing chess board. We had a very long competive game the one night. As you can see I cant really think of any negatives other than some sites are better than others. We were not crazy of our first site on Memorial weekend but we picked out a awesome site for this past weekend. It was a little private in the woods and very quiet. We met quite a few seasonal people who were the nicest people you could meet. If we ever decide to do seasonal this campground will be first on our list.

It can be difficult to find a campground that provides a realistic nature experience while maintaining the amenities that are essential to family camping. The Great Divide has done just that... my family consisting of two small children had a wonderful stay at the campground for 4 nights before traveling ten hours back to our home. We all got home and said we wanted to turn around and go back! Even when faced with rainy and cool weather we had a great time without ever leaving the campground. Management at the Great Divide is top notch with incredibly friendly and personal service along with clean, well maintained facilities. Thank you!

We are avid campers, with over 30 years experience. On Holiday weekends end up with over 20 family and friends camping together! This year we had 15 adults and 8 children (aged 3 to 14) on seven sites. We have camped here for over 15 years and must say the new management is spectacular! Since it rained heavily on Friday and Saturday, it could have been a washout. The friendly staff brought us bales of hay. They even brought down three large outdoor rugs to make the stay even easier. When one of the children was hurt at 9 pm and needed to go to the hospital, the staff gave great directions & assistance - the hospital was wonderful as well. Thankfully, the injury was minor and he was up and running the next day. Needless to say we will be back and bring even more campers next time!
