After a mess with flights at the airport, I called several hotels that were all overpriced. The only room available was this suite. We checked in and WOW!!!! we felt like we were on top of the world!!!!

Ever since, I have told friends about this place, and they have all had positive experiences.

The prices are bargain and service great. The shuttle to and from the airport was wonderful.

Room Tip: See if the Presidential Suite is available.... complete with a living room, bedroom, Jacuzzi, and vi...

The outside of the hotel looks new or renovated. Got to the hotel early as check in was at 3.00pm so left my bag in the locked room - the service was prompt and helpful. To note although I asked for a quiet room at the front desk, they allocated a high floor, 14th, but the higher you go the noiser the ventilation gets which is located in the bathroom. The room was nice as had a sofa and king size bed but shame about the noise from the ventilation (was told to closed the bathroom door and because due to tiredness managed to sleep through it). The wi-fi connection was unfortunately quite weak and although they have a business centre in the lower ground level only one terminal was free and the others had to pay. The continental breakfast was adequate but seatings were lacking due to space.

The hotel is 10 mins walk from Newark Penn Station which serves New Jersey Transit trains into Manhattan and the local area (trains & buses). It's 2 mins walk on to Broad Street where you find shops & eateries. I believe one can take the PATH from Newark Penn to World Trade Centre @ US$2.75 one way but didn't take this as only stayed within New Jersey. The hotel is next to the NJPAC (Art Centre). As for the area itself - I would feel safe walking around during the day as the night time not so sure even the security at the hotel advised to call for pick up from the station!

From Penn Station to Newark Penn Station via NJ Transit at US$5.00 one way (2 stops). Convenient to get to New Jersey Gardens outlets, take bus no. 40 from Broad Street outside Prudential Centre building or walk down to Newark Penn Station costs US$2.35 one way and approx 40 mins journey pending on traffic.

Room Tip: Choose mid floors as higher the floor the noiser the ventilation gets in the bathroom.

After reading the reviews I thought this place was just going to be okay - but it was much better than expected. I went for a short trip to NY and found this place to be reasonable / on the cheaper side. Newark is a crappy area, everyone knows this, so don't expect much or anything good if you stay in Newark. I found the room and the hotel to be clean. Maybe a little bit on the older side, but still very nice and fine. It does the job. Pay more if you want a fancier, nicer place. Again, this worked out very well. The staff at the hotel is very nice and was very accommodating with any questions or requests I had. Walking distance to the train to NY. Very close. Again, Newark is not a good area so once the sun sets I personally would not suggest being outside walking on the streets. The hotel has a shuttle that if you call the hotel will pick you up from the train station. There are safe places to wait inside the station so this is an amazing service as well. The only issue is food. There is no food around, but again the hotel staff at the front desk has a bunch of delivery menus and order from there. Again, perfect! I ordered from a pizza place called Marios (again the menu the front desk staff gave me) and it was very good. Just plan ahead and bring food with you on your way back to the room or eat in the city. Perfect place to stay for a visit in the city without the prices of hte city plus you don't have to rent a car. I am a female and went there alone. Felt totally self and very comfortable at this hotel. WOULD RECOMMEND HIGHLY!

Room adequate although worn, bed comfortable, fridge worked, teli worked, coffee maker worked (and you can get hot water for tea - after all these years the Americans think we all only drink coffee I am sure), bathroom wasn't the best but everything worked too. Breakfast was great, as much as you want really and the staff were really helpful. Shuttle to station and airport was good although its only a 5min walk from station.

STAFF ON RECEPTION - You are there because I am a guest so treat me as though I matter and you care - Smiles cost nothing, are infectious and make a difference. I filled in a feedback form and had an email from manager so that was something.

SERVICE INDUSTRY - What a joke.

We just experienced this hotel on the way to and return from a transatlantic cruise. I was pleasantly surprised at the overall appearance of the hotel. The pluses include a fabulous Mediterranean restaurant, clean rooms, great breakfast and efficient airport shuttle service. If and when we plan to be in that area again, I will definitely stay there. The lobster paella was soooo unforgettable. It's a classy place for a moderate price. Great value!

Nice people, crowded breakfast, small room which smelled of smoke. But even worse was the smell in the hallway. If I stayed a second time it would be only if I could have a non-smoking room. Bed was comfortable.

Room served it's purpose and was worth the price paid.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a non-smioking room if you are concerned about odors.

Excellant service, GREAT proximity to NJPAC, Penn Station, Prudential Center.
Nice rooms, nothing fancy but very nice. Staff very helpful. Room size nice. Good breakfast.
They do have a resturant and bar. Parking is next to hotel drive around the back. Went to Bruce Springsteen concert at the Rock/Prudential Center 3 block down on Mulberry street.
Seem safe had no problems. Also have a exercise room. Would stay there again. Walls may be thin, room next door was banging , not sure if were banging for me to lower the TV. Bed was nice.

Room Tip: Call the hotel and they can help you, mention the price online. They may match it. If you go online...
