Hotel is convenient for airport and transfers etc, lovely rooms and really quiet.
Only ate twice here and was disappointed both times, breakfast was slow and cold.
Limited menu options.
Access is a little poor if you like to walk but I guess that’s usual for the USA.
I would return if needed.

Good hotel.
Plus points are very comfy bed and pillows and good soundproofing so you can't hear your neighbours or the airport.
Points for improvement, towels are a bit on the small side. Breakfast was very slow service and cold and food choices were limited. A nice area to sit outside would be good.

Spent one night at the Newark Marriott, as we had to catch a very early international flight from Newark Liberty Airport the next morning. We arrived in the late afternoon, and our room was ready and waiting. It was spacious, clean, and surprisingly quiet, although right on the airport grounds. Staff were friendly and helpful. There was a gym off the lobby, and a bar/restaurant, but otherwise, there's little to do on site. Of note, you really cannot walk anywhere from the hotel. If you don't have a car, and you want to leave the hotel grounds, you must take the free shuttle to the terminal or call for transportation. Per staff, the shuttle runs every 20 minutes, 24 hours a day. We spent some time in the lobby in the early evening, and observed that it ran almost exactly on schedule. When we went to the lobby with our bags at 5:00am, the bus was at the front door, ready and waiting, as was a line of passengers. The driver helped us load our luggage, and we were at our terminal in about 10 minutes. It was a great way to ensure that we caught our flight without battling early morning traffic.

Room tip: Our 5th floor room was quiet.

I booked into this hotel as I arrived into Newark late at night and had an early morning international flight out the next day. My selection was founded on convenience

The hotel room and amenities were fairly standard for US hotels - nothing unusual to report. However, the convenience factor was deceptive as access to the hotel from the terminal was by courtesy bus. Nothing wrong with that either, except that it was very difficult to find out where to pick up the bus. Absolutely no help in the terminal for those not familiar with the airport. I used the courtesy terminal phone to contact the hotel, and after navigating through numerous audio selections the system finally directed me to a human, where I eventually obtained instruction on where to catch the bus. It should have been much easier - something the hotel could work on.

Unfortunately that was not the end of my woes, as I waited for a considerable time before the bus finally turned up. In that time a very large group had gathered, and getting everyone on the bus with bags quickly became a serious challenge. I was finally delivered to the hotel front lobby under very delayed and uncomfortable circumstances. In the time it took to make this short jump from the terminal to the hotel, I could have walked the distance several times over.

So when I say I selected this hotel for convenience, the balance against a hotel a little further away is quite fine. I think next time I will extend my search to a hotel that is a bit more organised around terminal pick-up. It should be better than this.

This is the Newark airport hotel which promotes itself as being the only hotel within the airport property. While this is true, you cannot walk to it, you must use their shuttle bus just as you would for the numerous perimeter hotels. At 1:45am, as I sat, for 50 minutes, waiting for the Airport Marriott’s shuttle to show up at the main P4 airport hotel shuttle pick up point, I watched brand after brand (Hilton, Ramada, Holiday Inn, Wyndham , even the offsite Marriott brands such as Spriing Hill and Renaissance) send 2-3 shuttle buses each during the period I spent waiting for the Marriott shuttle to appear. I called the hotel desk twice and was told the driver was on his lunch break. Do not pay a premium for the hotel’s on site location. The perimeter hotels are all close to the airport and no shuttle service that I have ever used during my frequent stays at EWR was as poor as the Marriott’s. If you need to do business work at the Marriott, be forewarned there is no desk and no desk chair in room - instead of a desk and chair there is a chaise lounge type banquette with a vertically adjustable small table - similar to what you would see in a hospital room for a patient to eat while in bed. Front desk offered 5,000 Bonvoy points for my “inconvenience”. I refused the points. Save your money and book one of the perimeter airport hotels - at a better price and with more reliable shuttles to the terminals and nearly all with more functional work space in their rooms.
