Branch Brook park is a pretty nice park despite being surrounded by a less than desirable area. The park is nothing special until their Cherry Blossom Festival. The Cherry Blossom Festival is beautiful and worth the visit as long as you know where to park outside of the grounds and walk in. Or if you know someone who will drop you off and pick you up. The narrow roads inside the park and the few tiny parking lots are a madhouse the entire length of the festival. If you mistakenly even start driving through the park it could take 45 minutes to even get through with all the people fighting for the one or 2 spots that come open.
Once inside the park is packed with tourists and people who come to obviously see the trees. Everyone is taking pictures and crowded around the biggest and brightest of the trees so expect all of your photos to contain dozens of strangers in them as well.
The park is pet friendly and has some nice walking paths along the way.
