“This place is a joke!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 6, 2012

I was so excited to see a wine bar at the airport... Yet, the service (menu nasty dirty, waiter was on his cell phone all the time, food was greasy and discusting) was terrible!

Not because you have a fench name, and very high prices it means that you can cook cheap food and be so dirty and rude!

Next time yoy are in, keep in mind that you will be better off with an egg mcmuffin from mcdonalds!!!

“Well overpriced - even for an airport”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2012

Went in for a light snack, a glass of wine and a beer between flights. As others have mentioned the only thing grand about this establishment are the prices. The service was good, but at $17 per glass for the wine I guess it should be.

“Dead fly in salad”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2012

Ordered Provencal Salad. Three bites into it I found a dead fly amidst the greens. A weak apology followed. Replaced salad and didn't charge. Overall: Nasty.

“Good food and service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2012 via mobile

Of late, my flights to London Heathrow have been from this end (C130)of concourse C. I've found this to be the best place to eat at this end of the concourse. I went for a table, as I don't like sitting at a bar when traveling and didn't fancy juggling on high chairs.

The waiter was attentive and couldn't have been better. I ordered a filet that was reasonably priced and superbly cooked. I washed my meal down with Brooklyn Ale, which was a good choice for me.

If you're a wine buff, you'll enjoy the selection! Le Grand Comptoir is a good place to eat and drink while waiting for your flight. Don't forget to ask for military discounts if your a service member or is ambled veteran.

“Underwhelming, to say the least”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 19, 2011

I KNOW it's a restaurant in an airport but it LOOKS as if it should be good. Sleek and stylish with a fantastic - but pricey - wine list by the glass and by the bottle. Since it WAS an airport restaurant I ordered a glass of wine and a salad - before deciding on a main course. I'm so glad I did. Although the Caesar salad LOOKED promising - deconstructed with the leaves of romaine arranged on a longish plate garnished with what looked like proper parmesan - I would swear the dressing was from a bottle - or worse, from one of those packets you get at a modest take-out - is it called "Ken's"? Needless to say, I didn't order a main course. The wine, by the way, was very nice.
