This hotel was CLEAN and perfect for a hotel close to the airport! 24 hr. free shuttle to airport....awesome for really early flights! NO BEDBUGS! I was really concerned about this...but their matressess were encased and not a bed bug in sight! Great beds. Great TV. Free wifi! Loved it esp. after experiencing other airport hotels in Europe!

This hotel exceeded our expectations. Completely renovated, modern hotel. Very good restaurant food for an airport hotel. Used the sleep and fly and left our vehicle there for 7 nights. Easy shuttle to and from the airport. My only small complaint was that the air conditioner is quite loud. We definitely would come back to this hotel when flying out of Newark.

The hotel was surprisingly nice. I really didn't know what the hotel would be like outside of information on the internet and reviews like this one. I stayed in three hotels during my trip (the Hilton in Baltimore and the Doubletree in Somerset, NJ) and although the Holiday Inn may not have had the nicest surroundings, the room was the nicest of all. Depending on what side of the hotel you are on you will see a gutted one story garage like building on one side that's an eyesore but it wasn't much of a bother. The hotel is completely gated and there is a police/security guard always on duty outside the front entrance. It was easy to get to from the airport and I'd stay there again. I probably wouldn't want to stay a whole week if you want to enjoy the area outside the hotel, but I'd stay a day or two for sure. Also, the staff was very courteous.

I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival at this property! The outside view is not very appealing, but it is a Newark Airport hotel! This property has recently been updated and is modern. The food is very good and fresh, which is novel in many hotels, especially at airports. There are vegetarian options on menu, too. The rooms are business friendly with many outlets and plenty of lighting. I especially liked the room darkening shades for sleeping and new alarm clocks with spa sounds buttons and total dimming.

Only one glitch, the shuttle bus goes out on demand, so don't be in a hurry as you do not know exactly when the bus will leave, it waits for the bus to fill before leaving.

I must say that this hotel is one of the best airport hotels in which I have stayed all over the world. All round the USA I have found service to be quite grim in hotels considering the high price paid and also grim on their national airlines. However this was a haven of cleanliness, brightness, positivity and efficiency and friendliness. The hotel has just been renovated and everything works well, the restaurant is fabulous and the service there very high standard and super friendly, this is also the case with the reception staff. The rooms are beautifully bright and well designed, making quite a small space look large and roomy. Beds are very comfortable. There is also a terrific shuttle service between the hotel and the pick up point at Newark airport. Not once did I wait longer that 5 minutes for a shuittle. Well done guys, at last I have found a serviced hotel which lives up to the standard and type in which I am used to staying in Asia.

After a smooth check-in at this airport hotel I stopped at the lounge to grab a beer. A small paper cup was filled with draft and then I was handed a charge of $9. I gasped. The bartender seemed to convey the mutual sentiment that I was being ripped off - big time. The next day I was able to speak with the on duty hotel manager about the charge. I met with Susana McCoon (assistant general manager). Amazingly this individual defended the $9 draft beer charge. Apparently $9 for a small paper cup of house draft beer is "fair". I would urge anyone planning to stay at this hotel to think twice about that decision as management clearly has the intent of ripping off their guests with the extras. I even gave the assistant general manager the opportunity to correct the situation knowing it would form the better part of my review on tripadvisor. Amazingly Susana stood firm on her position that $9 for a draft beer is fair and reasonable. Ultimately if a hotel is willing to exhibit and defend a pricing practice that most would find unfair, atypical and unreasonable, there are probably a few other surprises that await. Be careful with this hotel.

Room Tip: Get all pricing upfront.
