“Prudential Center : Great Place to see hockey and have fun”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

I just visited the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ and was very impressed with the facilities. I went to see the New Jersey Devils game and all the viewpoints in the arena are very good in the arena. The lighting and ambiance of the arena is much better than the Devils previous arena up the road in East Rutherford, NJ.
The food in the arena is excellent. If you are hungry, try the Angus Cheeseburger, easily well worth the 9.50 price as you get a great piece of meat and a large portion of french fries. The pretzels are also good but not as soft as I had hoped.
If you are fan of the team, there is one souvenir store "Devils Den" outside of the arena as other concessions inside the arena. Just one more note: If you are fan of a rival team, especially the New York Rangers, you will hear derisive chants and other words during the game as the teams are bitter rivals. Also, the train station, Penn Station is nearby.

“Good option for concerts!”

Nice to go here and take the train instead of driving all the way to the Meadowlands. I do miss the tailgating aspect though - you can't do that here. The venue was clean with good acoustics and lots of food and beverage options. Restrooms were clean!

“Decent Venue”
Reviewed January 20, 2013 via mobile

We took the family to see Disney on Ice Treasure Trove at Prudential. Overall a positive experience but there were both pros and cons to our visit.

1. If taking mass transit, it's very convenient to walk from the train station to PruCenter. In fact you can walk almost the whole way inside through a concourse, and then just cross street to get to venue (in an area that seems well patrolled and safe at least during events). The parking areas also seem safe and convenient.
2. PruCenter is well run with helpful staff.
3. Disney on Ice Treasure Trove is a cute show & great for kids.
4. Souvenir hawkers outside venue saved us about half. We bought out daughter's light up musical fairy outside after the show (sorry Disney).

1. Initially I thought we had gotten a deal with our tickets ($23 for kids, $29 for adults), and our seats were in Section 133 which did not appear the highest level on chart. But boy, we were almost scarily high (and steep) and the seats were so close together forget about getting up once you sat down. My tiny petite 6 year old even complained about lack of space and how high we were. It almost seemed you'd take a tumble with any mis-step. I might splurge on better tickets next time.
2. There isn't much you can do about this since it seems a universal theme at events no matter where you go but it was still a con: expensive concessions & long lines during intermission. Also I bought a bottle of water only to be told I couldn't take cap into arena seats which kind of defeats the purpose.
