Very nicely built up and maintained property, very spacious rooms, good internet, excellent breakfast spread and good professional services. Little offbeat location but good value for money. I shall recommend it to my friends with great conviction

As my favorite hotel nearby "Aloft" was sold out I had to try the ML. What a bad experience!
The room was smelling as the air wouldn't have circulated for months. As the room was freezing cold I turned on the heating to max. After 20 min. It was still blowing cold air and and it was late and I was very tired I didn't feel to change room. Boy what wrong decision. I had to cover my blanket with clothes and despite that got a cold. All few minutes an annoying generater disturbed my sleep. As I tried to drink some water I hit the dispenser on the 7th floor. Unfortunately plain water was sokd out. So I worked my way down to the 2nd floor without success. Come on! Is it soooo difficult to make sure you can provide for $2 water per bottle in a hotel? By the way in the Aloft you get 2 bottles per day for free! Then Wifi was also crap. It kicks you constantly out every few minutes and you only realize it when a roaming charge hits your screen. Very annoying as I am from Switzerland and they charge you crazy. Finally waking up in the morning I experienced the best part of my stay. I could check out and leave...

This hotel is not terrible by any means, however it suffers from "non-affiliation syndrome." By this I mean that certain standards one would see from a chain hotel are lacking. These are standards often overlooked until lacking such as paint, impeccable upkeep and maintenance, as well as room cleaning standards.

There are decent common areas, however, the rooms - although large - are a bit dank and musty. To put this in a bit of context, the rooms seem as though they were once smoked in years ago and you just cannot get the smell out. In permeates the air system and walls. The wallpaper is dated and stained in washrooms as well.

Overall, would I recommend the hotel to a friend or colleague, not really. If you are looking for a deal, perhaps it is a place to go, but there are other places that are affiliated which will deliver more consistent quality for value.

I've stayed at this hotel for a few days right after Tropical Storm Sandy. The room I stayed in was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. Linda at the front desk was very helpful, and accomodating. This was once a full service Marriott, so it still has the accomdations of a Marriott ( Bed, Television, etc.).

Room Tip: Ask for Linda at the Front Desk. She is very helpful.

I travel for business each week and the Hotel ML is perfect! If you are travelling in the area, try this place out instead of one the many chain hotels in the area. The hotel staff is really friendly and will cater to your business needs. The excellent service starts when you check in with Priscilla and Linda at the front desk, and Kermit, one of the most helpful and nicest bellmen you will find. In the restaurant and bar, the service is very personable and efficient. On my business travels, I've sat at the ML bar and enjoyed great conversation and service from Monte and Anthony many times, but the entire bar staff is very professional with excellent service. Same thing with Talias restaurant. In the morning for breakfast,,,,,which is included in your stay, Maria takes good care to seat you and start you off with coffee or juice. Pam is just one of several morning servers who will serve you a fine breakfast, or, make one for you to take out if you choose, and get you on your way in speedy fashion. In the evenning, Kevin and Rosie's service is excellent, and the menu is great with good options from a nice ribeye steak to salmon or sea bass with many other great dishes to choose from. I like the cheese steak. As for the rooms, they are good sized, very clean and well maintained and there is always free wifi, so working from your room is easy. The perks here are excellent if you travel for business. While they are not associated with any brand, they have a unique rewards program. After you've stayed 5 nights, you will receive a 50 dollar Visa cash card for every 5 nights you stay. After youve logged 30 nights, you receive a 75 dollar visa gift card for every 5 nights. If you travel alot like I do, this is an excellent perk. when you check in, ask for breakfast cards and enjoy free breakfast from the menu. There is also a concierges lounge on te 10th floor where regulars can mingle and relax. Since I travel for business and am here mainly during the week, I do not experience the water park crowds that seem to fill this place on weekednds and holidays. My business stays are always pleasant and the helpful and friendly staff cater to all my needs. If you are a business travellor I strongly suggest that you give the ML a try at least once. I guarantee you'll be back.

Room Tip: Travelling on business, ask if you can get a room on the 10th floor. each room has its own little b...

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that there is this wonderful place right where I live. I have a 5 year old son and he enjoyed the waterpark very much. I loved the room and slept well on the comfortable bed. James from room service is as excellent as the food that he delivered. Manager Marie Burke seemed very dedicated to her job. I seldom see a manager like her. I can't wait to schedule another trip with my family.

We booked a weekend at this hotel to enjoy the Coco Key Water Park. During Check in there were only two people at the counter and a line of at least 12 people checking in. Weekends are busy Im sure especially during winter weekends because of the indoor waterpark. we stood on line for over 20-25 minutes waiting to check in. Once we checked in and made it up to our room ROOM 606, WE WERE SHOCKED.....The Bathroom in our room was in need on some major maintenance... The metal plate that goes around the shower know for the water was broken off and you could see IN THE WALL, THRU THE TILES, it was like a hole in the shower wall... the two metal shelves in the shower where you put ur shampoos were broken off. Later that night when we went to take a shower when pulling the knob forward to turn the water on the entire plubming knobs, shower head everything moved back and forth, the plumbing was not bolted down... This is just the bathroom... the room itself, where to start, the down comforter had a stain on it, two of the 6 pillows had stains on them. Looked like chocolate or food of sme sort that never got wahsed out, maybe some bleach would have helped... The room was not heated, we had to call the front desk to figure out how to turn the heat on. The room was literally in a corner between the soda vending machine, the ice machine and the service elevator which you couldnt see but could hear every five minutes which sounded like a car reving its engine outside the window... this loud noise continued until almost midnight which madeit extremely difficult for my three year old to fall asleep...all the other rooms in the hotel are down long hallways that I could see, but this room (room 606) is jammed in a cornder between all these utlities and should never have been made a room, but a utlity closet. Now moving on to other areas of the Hotel.... At breakfast the three adults ate from the Breakfast Buffet, but my three year old wanted a waffel, so we asked to order a waffel from the menu and were told they were too busy to allow anyone to order off the Menu and the only option was to eat the Buffet... When a three year barely eats, asks for a waffle and you cant order that and are forced to pay $8 for a childs buffet when all he ate was some milk, this is extremely aggravating. At dinner same thing, Only buffet, not permitted to order from Menu. Dinner Buffet left much to be desired, Watery BBQ Chicken floating in BBQ flavored watr, Dry Mac and Cheese, literally looked like it had been sitting there for 4hours, Salad Bar with only 6 condiments to add to the actual lettuce, chicken fingers (these were good), roasted potatoes & string beans (these were decent) and some Turkey slices which were dry dry dry... and all this fabulousness for $14.95/// what a steal... Lets not mention the green tinged scramble eggs at breakfast and the watered down syrup or the rae onions and peppers on what were supposed to be breakfast potatoes. Now lets get to the water park.... THe water park was cold, my son was shivering and I myself was chilly. There were no tables to sit down and eat the lunch we ordered from the concession stand so we had to eat standing up holding my three year while our tray of food stood on top of a garbage can. HALF THE TABLES WERE NOT EVEN USED, PEOPLE JUST PLOP THEIR TOWELS ON THE CHAIRS AND BAGS ON THE TABLE and go swim.... this is what the lockers, cubbys and chairs and lounge chairs are for, it is staff respionsibility to ensure that the customers are not misusing the provided tables which are for people to eat and are in the restaurant area.... The lazy river was more of a bumper cars river, people and especially children ages 9-15 pushing, running in the river, throwing people out of their tubes, if the lifeguard has to yell at u three times "calm down its the lazy river!" then why are they not taking you out of the river.... instead my toddler got bumped and hit int he face with a tube and we had to get out..... The wter park was cold and much smaller than expected. In speaking to one of the maids she mentioned Sahara Sams is much bigger, warmer and better than Coco Key... this is TRULY TRULY TRULY TRULY THE WORST WEEKEND TRIP WE HAVE EVER BEEN ON AND WOULD NEVER NEVER NEVER RETURN OR RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL OR WATER PARK TO ANYONE..... You definately get what you pay for and definately better off spending the extra $200 and going to the Great Wolf Lodge or going to Shara Sams for the day.....

Room Tip: Make sure you stay away from room 606
