“Staff was Pleasant but the Hotel Needs Work”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

When I checked in the staff was pleasant and they prepared my room key ahead of time, so they were able to check me in immediately. I was disappointed that my room was located on the first floor since I requested a room on a higher floor through my Hilton Honors membership. Albeit the hotel seemed very full and there may not have been any other vacancies.

When I walked into the room it smelled very musty and felt damp. There was free WiFi, but unfortunately there wasn't a lot of AC outlets to plug my laptop into. I was surprised that the bed was very uncomfortable. I have stayed in a lot of Hilton properties and the beds are typically very comfortable. The room and the overall hotel seemed dated and needs to be renovated.

Room Tip: Try to find a room off of the first floor. It is noisy if it is close to the lobby.

The staff was friendly and helpful. They responded with a smile and courtesy. They gave you whatever you asked for, but there's a down side: you have to ask for everything. From bar soap, tissue box, napkins in the lobby, to water bottles (it's free btw, nice touch). I had to ask for a new sheet because it had some sort of black stain on one side when I first checked in.

The hotel itself is old and tiresome. The room was clean but very old. It had a stingy smell. The AC unit was loud, even when it was off - you could hear dripping-water-like noise. The walls were thin, luckily I didn't have any neighbor until the last night. I was on the fourth floor that faced the pool, which was muggy and looked unclean. Though I had seen a worker "rakiing" the pool on the first day. One on night, there were people in the pool up to midnight and I could hear every single thing -mind you, I was on the fourth floor... The frontdesk quickly rectified the problems though. Another negative is that they only have one vending machine at the front desk, which made midnight craving for peanut M&Ms a pain (but that's just me).

On the positive side, the hotel is centrally located and very close to food sources, shopping, grocery stores, so forth. It's an ideal place if only they could renovate the gut...

(pics will be provided later)

Room Tip: Top floor and away from the pool for a bit more peace and quiet.

I stayed here with my kids on 7/17. I liked having a refrigerator in the room and the kids loved swimming in the outdoor pool. They also loved the breakfast in the morning and I loved it because it was free. Great location, great hotel. The people that worked there were so nice.

This hotel is very well run and well maintained. The staff is one of the most helpful and cheerful I have ever encountered. From the moment of arrival until departure they were consistently positive and customer service oriented.

Stay here every year. Rooms are clean & comfortable but small. Beds comfortable & like refrigerator & Microwave in room. Ice machine broken on first floor on our way down & still broken on our way back a week later. Staff nice & efficient. Believe cost is too high compared to larger, more elegant rooms at Courtyard by Marriott.

Took advantage of the sahara sams ticket pkg which was a good deal. The room and bathroom were not tiny as some reviewers said. We had a king room w a pull out sofa bed. All neat and clean.

The bed, however, could use fixing! It creaked and sunk to one side. I thought it was going to break!

I would stay here again...if the beds get upgraded/fixed!

Typically high quality, very consistent Hampton property. You can't go wrong in picking Hampton Inns. The rooms are comfortable, well laid out and clean. The complimentary breakfast provides a good number of choices.
