I initially found Singapore on TripAdvisor. I rely on TripAdvisor for guidance as I travel for business. This time, I stayed right down the road and easily found the restaurant. There was only one other couple in there at 8:30PM on a Wednesday night, so I sat right at the sushi bar. The other couple, repeatedly, called up to the sushi chef and server, by name, telling them how great everything was. This was a great sign, since they were regulars and knew their names.
When I was asked what I wanted to drink, I asked if they had any beer and she pointed to "Root Beer" on the menu and said that this was the only beer they had and laughed. She then told me it was BYOB. It was funny and immediately I could tell they were nice people.
I got the feeling that the server and chef were owners, being that this place is a rather small place. I ordered a couple of rolls off of the specials board, plus an appetizer. Everything was extremely fresh and the presentation was practically the best I have ever seen. I was thoroughly impressed with the taste and quality. The service was very responsive and she was very helpful when asking what she recommended.
I would highly recommend this place. Don't forget to BYOB!
