“Great food and geat atmosphere!”
Reviewed May 2, 2013 via mobile

Went with coworkers during a business trip. Had a wonderful experience.
Food, mostly tapas, was full of great flavor.
Little chily sitt outside, but the food helped warm me up.

“So-so local Cuban”
Reviewed May 1, 2013

Pretty good food, great outdoor ambiance when the weather is nice.
Unfortunately, they get overcrowded as they're trying to pack way too many people into a tight space, and they don't really have anyplace for people to wait.

They pretend to offer sangria, but it's non alcoholic, and they ask that you bring your own wine for it. Not really the same.
I was there on a Saturday night for dinner about 7 PM, and I ordered 3 different things because I was told they were out of my first 2 options. However, I was told by my server that he might be wrong, and he'd bring me one of my earlier options if available. I guess he succeeded in adding the element of surprise to my meal.

The portions are a bit on the smaller side, and way too small considering the price. The price would be on point if you didn't leave feeling hungry.

Overall, there are many better Cuban restaurants, but I suppose that if you're feeling like staying local, and are in the mood for Cuban, Cuban Pete's is certainly an ok option. Just don't expect to be wowed.

“I don't get it”
Reviewed April 27, 2013

Hot spot for the young folks. Very poor food and abrupt service, yet this place is jammed every night. I don't get it.

“There's only one good thing about this restaurant”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

It's not the atmosphere because the place is so loud and chaotic I felt like I was at Chuck E Cheese.
It's not the cleanliness because both my wife and I were given plates with bits of crusted food still on them.
It's not the service because that was so bad I'm not even sure where to start, but don't expect to see your waiter again once you place your order.
And it's not the management because how long you wait to be seated depends much more on how friendly you are with the host than where your name is on the waiting list.
The one good thing about this restaurant is that the people in the kitchen know what they're doing. The food was good, even when the place (and it's a big place) was at capacity on a Saturday night.
But unless you want to feel like you're on spring break where the blaring music, totally inattentive service, and questionable cleanliness are unimportant to your visit, it's going to be tough to enjoy the food if you go on a Friday or Saturday night.
Finally, the restaurant is BYOB, and sells pitchers of several different kinds of punch that most people add their own liquor/wine to. There's a liquor store just a couple of doors down that's open late.

“You feel like your on an island!”
Reviewed April 19, 2013 via mobile

Four is us went and all four of us had a great time… The food was fantastic… The whole Cuban atmosphere was so nice palm trees and buildings with the worn Look outdoor seating with the waterfall with the rocks.. you don't feel like you're in New Jersey anymore when you go... Service was on the slower side but it was also nice not to be rushed to order and rushed out of the restaurant so they can turn it over... Overall a great experience And the owner Dominic was very nice guy
