We tried Mangia Toscano for the first time with friends and it was wonderful. Service was great, the menu was interesting and the food surpassed our expectations. Definitely recommend.

The food is top-notch here, with all sorts of authentic Tuscan specialties -- breads, meats, soups, etc.. The menu is short but they do have specials and the food service is charming.

My only complaint was the fact that my husband ordered capio e pepe for dinner-- which was incredibly delicious. But I don't think it was capio e pepe. It was too creamy. I think they just used their quattro formagio sauce.
Turns out my husband was thrilled with the meal. Until we got the bill. While all other pastas were in the $20-$30 range (including the lobster at $29) the capio e pepe, with no meat, cost about $35.
We never checked the price before ordering -- I suggest you do.
So while I loved the restaurant, I couldn't help but feel a bit of bait and switch there. We'll be back but with our eyes now open.

Dear Patricia,
First of all we would like to thank you for your wonderful compliments.
Regarding the bill, you are indeed right, this was definitely an unintentional mistake.
The cost of our cacio e pepe is $27 so we deeply apologize for it and would love to make it up for you.

Please email mangiatoscano.metuchen@gmail.com next time you would like to visit us.

Sincerely,
Ivan Guarducci

Our first visit to Mangia and we will certainly return. We shared the burrata with prosciutto and it was fresh and very tasty. I had a special of wild boar bolognese over freshly made pappardelle. It was excellent and the portion was ample. My husband has the bronzino fillet and it was delicious. I love that it’s BYOB and the staff is lovely and accommodating .

We celebrated a birthday in the family at this Italian gem in Metuchen, which all of us agreed was a wonderful experience! The food, ambiance, and friendly service was outstanding. Definitely going back soon.

Nice place in the Metuchen center.

Very good products and very friendly ambiance on this typical Italian restaurant.

The waitress and the restaurant manager are very nice.

There is a real master chef in the kitchen

Just try it once and you will surely come back.
