All the years I had lived in Medford and nearby, I had never been to Tarantella. We started with complimentary bruschetta, which was very good, although a tad soggy. Salads were included. I had a good bowl of chicken vegetable soup followed by veal parm with pasta. My wife ordered veal medallions, also served with angel hair pasta. The food was better than average, but they give you way too much. If you like leftovers, your dinner can be lunch or dinner the next day.
A varied dessert menu included chocolate/vanilla ice cream coated with hard chocolate. Luckily we shared because again it was too much for one person.
Service was excellent and the owner stopped by our table twice to make sure we were happy and seemed genuinely pleased that we were.
Atmosphere is somewhat lacking and if you eat outside in the summer you'll have a view of a strip mall parking lot and busy Route 70.
Be advised: 1) Medford is not a dry town but Tarantella is BYO; 2) they don't take reservations for less than 6, so get there early on weekends. We arrived shortly after 5:00 on a Saturday and the place was full - only two tables left. When we left after 6, there was a line.
