Kept driving by this place and there were always tons of cars! Decided to give it a try.
The interior of the restaurant is nothing special, basic booth set up mixed with tables for larger parties on two levels. When you arrive, you are handed two menus. One is the kitchen menu which features the following categories: soups and rice, salad and noodles, appetizers, tempura dishes, teriyaki and fry and desserts. The second menu is for the sushi bar: sashimi, sushi, maki and special rolls. Next to each item you mark the number of pieces you wish to order. Waitress comes, whisks your menus away and your food starts to roll out of the kitchen.
When you finish what you ordered, you are welcome to get a second set of menus and begin all over again. All this for $18.95 during the week; $21.95 on holidays and weekends. Children under 9 eat for $10.50. Everything is made fresh as you order.
We ordered a variety of tempura (shrimp, broccoli, sweet potato, fish) which was very good, a couple of appetizers (spring roll, crispy calamari and BBQ squid), sashimi (salmon and egg custard), sushi (tuna, salmon, shrimp, squid, red snapper, maki (tuna avocado, mango shrimp, spicy crunch scallop, spicy tuna) and a variety of special rolls with cool names like Pink Lady, Godzilla Roll, Eagles, Yummy Make. We were very happy with our dinner. Lively place, excellent value.
