“Good Old Lucy”
Reviewed January 1, 2012

My daughter's 3rd grade class visited Lucy. There is a lot of history inside that elephant. Definately worth the look. There is even a small gift shop.

“Loved Lucy!”
Reviewed December 8, 2011

Lucy the Elephant is the kind of roadside attraction I love to visit and see preserved.

A small entrance fee earns you a spot on a tour that enters via her back left leg and exits from her right. In Lucy's "belly" you'll find displays and artifacts from her history, including a full bathroom from her stint as a private residence. You also climb to Lucy's howdah for an open-air view of her surroundings.

A small gift shop at the base sells Lucy and elephant souvenirs as well as tour tickets. A beachfront restaurant has good sandwiches and sides.

Note that Lucy has very narrow spiral staircases and is not handicapped accessible.

“Big Elephant on the Beach”
Reviewed December 5, 2011

Lucy the Elephant is a huge elephant shaped house and museum located on the Margate beach. She has stood watch over the beach for more than 100 years. This is one of those structures built to attract tourism to the Margate shore. It has a nice view of the beach from out of the "eyes." Well worth it to take your kids to see this attraction if you're in the Margate/Ventnor/Atlantic City/Brigantine areas.

“Lucy Love”
Reviewed November 16, 2011

Had heard about her for years, but she was better than expected. Her history is amazing, she is beautiful and climbing inside and then topside and looking out was memorable.

“Unusual site on Jersey Shore”
Reviewed November 7, 2011

Spouse remembered battered attraction from when Jersey Shore was family get away in youth. Surprized to see the attraction restored and open for visitiors. Grand kids didn't quite know what to make of a large wooden elephnat that you climbed into through the left rear leg. Large theatre room in belly and stunning view from the veiwing platform on top of the structure. Unexpected local history related to the area and purpose of Lucy.
