Inn on Main Hotel
Ranked #1 of 3 Manasquan B&B and Inns

we love beach towns, but let's face it, usually there are slim pickings when it comes to finding a hotel that is both clean, well appointed, and not catering to young kids who book a room for two, and then cram another six of their friends in it and use it as a party hall / crash pad (been there, done that, many many moons ago).
the inn is very similar to a b&b, with every room decorated in a unique style, and if you book in advance, you usually get to choose the one you prefer. we've stayed in quite a few different ones, most of them have little decks, and whether you stay facing main street or the parking lot (not as bad as you think, as far as the view is concerned), it is relatively quiet at night.
there is no check-in process / reception desk, so you can arrive at any hour, and simply let yourself in. with the exception of the random cleaning girl during the day, we've never seen any hotel personnel - communication is done by phone, but they typically return your call immediately. the process is simple - you book on line, you get an entry code, and the rest is a breeze.
rooms have a small refrigerator and a coffee pot (i think).
the worst thing i can say is that it's not on the beach - but that's not a fault of theirs.

Room Tip: we've stayed in room 206 and were very pleased. a queen bed, a loveseat, lots of room space, a...

We thank reviewer for her repeat stays and her accurate review. The beach is 1 1/2 mins drive at the end of the road, or 15 min walk. The Inn is surrounded by restaurants and village shops and continues to be lively active even when the summer season ends. Firefly Bistro on our ground floor is an area "hit," adding to a list of reasons the Inn is busy year-round.

We stayed for 3 nights in this pristine hotel. It's on Main Street and surprisingly quiet, you cannot hear the cars on the street below at all. It's in a perfect location too, lovely shops and cafes run on either side of it and at the end of the street is the beach. Perfect! The bed was really comfortable, the linen was clean, the a/c worked and there is was also a fireplace for those chilly winter nights.

All in all it was the highlight of our trip, the townsfolk are all friendly and helpful, you get a real sense of community. The firefly resturant is located right below the hotel and is a fantastic place for a nice dinner. The paramount diner is a couple meters up the road and serves a fantastic breakfast.

We are pleased the reviewer had a good stay. Just like its sister hotel, the Atlantis Inn in Ocean City, NJ, the Inn on Main has also just received the 2013 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Award, still a rarity in the Jersey Shore area.

We work diligently and professionally and are grateful for our hard-working staff and the excellent food operation at Firefly on the ground floor. The Inn's ideal location makes the trip to the Jersey Shore, not just about the "beach."

Awful. Terrible management. Very rude owner. We had two guests over on Saturday night playing music and were threatened with eviction at 1030 on a Saturday night. The maid refused to clean our room when we asked to come back in 15 minutes because we were showering. Very disappointing. I will never stay here again. This is the first review I've ever written on trip advisor and I'm taking the time to tell people how awful our stay was

We are pleased to announce that the Inn on Main has just been awarded TripAdvisor's 2013 Certificate of Excellence. We thank our patrons for writing in.

This is hardly a surprise review and we shall request TripAdvisor, by way of this response, to disqualify it. Reviewer is a return guest within a space of 2 weeks. We assume the first visit was satisfactory.

To the matter…the Rules of the Inn provided in each room and in confirmation emails states the following: "QUIET ZONE, NO PARTIES, NOISE LEVEL. Our facilities are not rented for parties. The Quiet Zone is from 10:30 pm to 10 am, but quiet at all times is appreciated by other guests." And, "BEHAVIOR. Loud and vulgar behavior or drunkenness will result in eviction."

On that Saturday night, close to 11 pm, guests complained of the loud music and talk. I personally requested the Reviewer to lower the volume and explained the rules. He did not think the music was loud at all, when in fact, we could hardly hear each other. Reviewer did notch it down after our conversation. Earlier that morning, adjoining rooms were awakened at around 8:00 AM by loud altercation from Reviewer's room. I heard the tail end of a female's ranting, gave it 5 minutes more, and thankfully it stopped, requiring no further action.

With regard to cleaning, the room attendant attempted to refresh the room and the female guest just requested fresh towels and bath supplies. The attendant asked Reviewer a second time while they passed her cart in the hallway.

In summary, we would have exercised terrible management if we allowed this kind of loud behavior at the expense of other valued guests.

Our family have been in B&B's from Florida to Maine, and I have to say our stay at the Inn was one of the best stays we have ever experienced. Not only was the room superbly appointed and comfortable, but the dining locations within walking distance of the Inn for breakfast through dinner were numerous and varied. Val is a gracious host, and his interest in his guest's well being is unsurpassed. I would recommend The Inn On Main to anyone!

Love this property! Val and his staff are outstanding. Convenient coded check in process. The room was beautiful and well appointed. Great fireplace. The restaurant right downstairs was incredible and convenient. Loved the town. My wife and I went to celebrate 10 years of marriage and her 40th. So nice to be about to walk to nice shops. Had a great jog to the beachfront area. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommend. Perfect getaway.

Room Tip: Our Room overlooked the street. Saw a parade from our balcony!

I loved checking into my room without having to go to a front desk. and downstairs for dinner. No silly frills. Could have used a lounge chair and a small desk. I slept with french doors open.
Very clean and comfortable.
