“Livingston landmark”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

Consistently overstuffed deli sandwiches, the best sloppy joes around, great smoked fish, reasonable breakfast menu. Decor is average but staff is helpful.

“Consistently good.....”
Reviewed September 18, 2012

Consistency is everything....never a disappointment. Pricey, but a sandwich lasts 2 days.
Brisket is lean, roast beef too....no extra charge like at other places.
Decor is upbeat and the place is immaculately clean.

“Great food”
Reviewed July 21, 2012

The ambience is deli. Service slow. What comes out of that kitchen is amazing. Big bowl of delicious pickles and coleslaw while you wait. And you will wait. Really worth it though. Pretty expensive but portions large. Chicken soup to die for. Chopped chicken livers a little soupy for my taste. Everything else I have had there is probably the best I have ever had

“Not cheap, but worth every latke”
Reviewed June 22, 2012

Eppes Essen is not a bargain breakfast or lunch for us by any means, but it's a local gem that is family-friendly and serves delicious food. We have never been disappointed with our orders and the portions are generous. Free bagels are put on the table after orders are taken and it's someplace where our friends with kids can congregate and feel comfortable - we always leave with leftovers.
