Just returned from a one night stay and I wish we could have stayed longer! The hotel was very quaint and nicely updated. Our room was on the 2nd floor and had a fireplace in front of our bed and one in the jacuzzi bathroom area. The sleeping area is on the smaller side so the fireplace really heated the room up quickly and then it was very warm the rest of the night . The room was extremely clean and very well kept. They offer turn down service without us requesting it and it was nice to come back to a refreshed room after a dinner out. I would stay here again and highly recommend it. It is very close to many restaurants and lots of antique shopping in Lambertville and a quick walk to the bridge to New Hope.

We just returned from a one night stay. We made an excellent choice. Our room was on the second floor. We had a queen-sized bed that faced the fireplace with TV right above it. The separate room for the Jacuzzi had another fireplace and was huge. We faced the back of the hotel and had a nice sized balcony to enjoy in warmer weather. The room was immaculate and tastefully decorated. The one minor issue I had was the lack of space in the bathroom to place our toiletries. Plenty of plush towels and nice robes. Loved having the coffee maker down the hall at our disposal. This is a B&B/Boutique Hotel. We decided to forgo the breakfast package and walked across the street to the Full Moon Cafe. Highly recommend. We love getting massages and were so happy that Lambertville Massage Therapy is right next door. We each had 90 minute massages that were excellent. It felt like we floated back to our room. Parking at the Hotel wasn't a problem. Plenty of spots available. The staff was always very attentive. Needless to say we will be returning.

Mixed review. The room was great with an excellent layout. Everybody was extremely nice and pleasant. The parking is a problem. Overflow parking is three blocks away and not lit well late at night. 1 breakfast was excellent, while the second was bland. The bed was slightly worn. The fireplace and Jacuzzi were extremely enjoyable. The location is wonderful, easy to walk to many stores and restaurants.

We stayed for one night only but it was delightful. We had The Governor's Suite which was beautiful - you needed a set of steps really to get up into bed (not provided!) and the jacuzzi bath was great. We accidentally ended up eating there too as it was a Tuesday night and most restaurants are closed (Lambertville is really busy at weekends so lots of shops and restaurants close Monday and Tuesday). It was very good and the bar staff kept us entertained and were very friendly. A lovely stay.

Room Tip: Try The Governors' Suite' for something special.

Lambertville House Hotel, Lambertville. Last Xmas, I gave my husband a present .. a Gift Certificate to the Chimney Hill Inn B &B in Lambertville, along with a promised dinner. We couldn't work it out to get there until mid-November this year. We made the reservations at the Chimney Hill Inn and headed down there ..my husband had to drive from Washington DC to meet me in NJ. We got to Lambertvile and found out that the Chimney Hill Inn was closed and HAD been for almost two weeks due to storm Sandy. Had they informed us, we would have rescheduled. It was very frustrating and aggravating that in this day and age, they couldn't figure out a way to inform scheduled guests of the closing. Anyway, we called another hotel we knew, The Lambertville Station hotel, which could not accommodate us. They suggested another place, The Lambertville House who had a room for us. What a garret find!! Small, four floor boutique hotel, fabulously furnished. We had to switch rooms after the first night but it worked out great First we had Room 408 which was really nice..spacious with a whirlpool tub, coffee in the hallways each morning. The next night we had the Governors Suite, Room 404 and was it fabulous!! It was a huge room, king bed, gas fireplace, separate room leading to small balcony that had a two person jacuzzi. It was wonderful. We spent the $20 for two at check in for breakfast in their restaurant The Left Bank and it was totally worth it. Great breakfasts..very filling and excellent. We also had drinks at that same bar/restaurant and the drinks were great and atmosphere was as well. Staff was really really good..we forgot our toothpaste and they had it at our room in less than two minutes. We would return there without a doubt. It is centrally located within walking distance of all of Lambertville and New Hope as well. Standard room was about $200 and the suite was about $300. They did take AAA 10 % discount.

Room Tip: I don't think any of the rooms are really noisy..only has 4 floors..maybe those in the back of t...

This place is way over priced. I have stayed at many bed and breakfasts and boutique hotels and will never stay here again. The rooms are small, out dated, and smell moldy. I am surprised by the accolades this place gets. I can only assume that most of these people have never stayed at really nice places. For the prices they charge there should be at least a continental breakfast, but there isn't. There are cobwebs, dust and dead bugs. I don't allow these things in my own home let alone at an inn I'm paying $350 a night for. With that money I think they can afford a good housekeeper. Or two. Another important factor, parking. If you book a room don't expect to park here. The small parking lot at the hotel was full so we were directed to the overflow lot half a mile away, that was full as well. Driving around a town we were unfamiliar with trying to find parking at night was not fun. We ended up even farther away than the overflow lot, hauling our luggage all around town. Note to Lambertville House, valet parking would be nice. I am paying over $600 for two nights I can afford an extra $20 or so for valet parking. I mentioned the smell, it was awful. It was the first thing we noticed. That and the fact that someone had used the toilet and forgotten to flush. How a housekeeper had overlooked that is baffling. Disgusting. Hair in the bathroom, paint peeling, noisy air conditioner, and dated furniture. As for extras, all I can say is money, money, money. You get bottled water, two bottles of water, that's it. We did like the fact that there was a bar and restaurant on the premises. Unfortunately, we ran into problems trying to get our restaurant bill put onto our hotel bill. The waitress made it seem like it was a big deal, even though she told us before we ordered that it would not be a problem. It was very confusing. Since there is no breakfast included, there was no common area to meet other guests or to sit in. There is a an enclosed porch area overlooking an interior courtyard, but there were small children running around there so it was not very relaxing or quiet. The women working the front desk, while friendly, didn't seem to be proficiently knowledgeable about the operations of the inn. Answering the phone was more important than waiting on the people standing in front of them and simple questions could not be answered. As for the innkeepers, they were nonexistent. We were told to email them to get answers to our questions. You've got to be kidding me.
I am not opposed to paying good money to stay at nice, clean, quiet places. That being said, I would never stay here again.

I wanted to acknowledge and respond to this comment regarding an unpleasant experience at our hotel. As with all comments we thank you for taking the time to review your experience. Obviously we would have preferred to read a more positive review but it is our intention to provide outstanding service to all guests and therefore we must be responsive to all comments.
Our 200 year old building is maintained with the utmost of care and attention to cleanliness and efficiency of all mechanicals. Maintainance and housekeeping staff are trained extensively and examination of guest rooms and common areas are done on a daily basis. I apologize if we failed to present your guest room in the best possible condition.
Lambertville is a very small, but busy city and just like many other cities parking can be a challenge. The hotel provides free parking to all overnight guests either in the lot adjacent to the hotel or an overflow lot. As much as we recognize that it might be a bit of an inconvenience to walk from the overflow lot it does eliminate paying for parking. A bellman is available to assist with luggage, directions, and parking to make this process a bit more pleasant.
Our hotel staff is highly qualified to answer questions, assist with dining reservations and insure that all guests are attended to in an efficient and professional manner. We are not a Bed & Breakfast with in house innkeepers and a lovely breakfast included, as one would normally find in a Bed & Breakfast. We find our guests prefer to make their own decisions regarding dining and therefore we offer an option of a breakfast package.
We will continue to strive to be our best and do our best to provide outstanding service and experiences for all who choose to be our guest.

Stayed one night; wished it were longer. Would like to return. Great overall; loved the room I was in--the opposite of large-chain conformity.

Aesthetics all excellent. Shared gourmet coffee maker in hall was great (but noisy for those nearby?)

some details were a tad tired--like a rubber bath mat that had seen better days some years back :)
