“More than a pub”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2012

If you want a pub--this is the place! It's got the perfect horseshoe bar and friendly people hang around this place and the beers on tap.... But if you want a restaurant with white tablecloths, but not too stuffy and great food and nice ambiance--this place is a winner! I LOVE the food here. The tuna sandwich is a tuna steak that's perfectly seasoned, the "pub chips" are like you want to take a bag of 'em home. They always have some kind of homemade tea to drink that's jaw-droppingly fantastic. I feel like the food is selected and prepared with great attention to quality and a gourmet pizzaz. If the weather is nice--why not sit on the patio outside? Pure delight!

“Mediocre food with slow and neglectful service”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2012

I used to come to Inn of the Hawke frequently, but the food and service have really gone downhill in the last few years. It's a nice little place, with a great backyard. I don't go with high expectations - a good burger, good wings, and a couple of drinks in a nice setting on a spring day. Great homemade chips are a bonus. I used to be able to get all of these things at the Hawke. Lately the wings aren't crisp, the chips are stuck together and rubbery, but the real problem is the service. Service has never been their strength - but few things annoy me more than servers who look over me, past, me and through me - but don't actually provide service. Poor service cost them sales on a visit, and now have cost them a customer.

“Just sit at the bar”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2012

Give the restaurant a miss. Sit at the bar, order apps and have a drink. The food is not fabulous but the bar is a good place to hang out with a buddy.

“Fish and chips are great.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2012

Went for dinner and got fish and chips as I've had before. Very good and my budy had a burger, just ok. I recomend the fish. Good beer selection on tap. The only downfall is the wait staff seems as if there doing you a favor. Not friendly nor even care or ask if everything was ok. I would go back again. Homemade chips also.
