“Heaven for your taste buds!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2013

We ate there recently on a Friday night in the nostalgically decorated dining room. The ambiance was lovely, and the food superb. We started with the chicken liver pate which was smooth and flavorful, served with warm toasted homemade bread, chutney and spicy mustard. One of us had the filet mignon, which was a very generous steak, cooked perfectly to my taste and tender as butter. The other had the rack of lamb special with homemade lamb sausage. He loved it. The sides were wonderful, the vegetables fresh, as was the warm homemade bread for the table. The chef is very creative, and the wait staff was attentive, but not overly so, even though the restaurant and bar were busy. A great restaurant in a lovely town. We read on the menu that there is a fixed price supper club once a month, a great idea, and also very reasonable. We will definitely be back.

“Good not great”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2013 via mobile

We wanted to like Anton's, a lot, but it fell short. We ate in the dining room on a weekend. The decor was fun and interesting. The menu offerings sounded delicious but were less than impressive. Both entrees had the same sides of veg and potatoes. The fish I ordered had a heavy butter sauce which I didn't care for. We were also disappointed that the bread was not warm or toasted. The wine was good and the service was good. Overall not a bad place, just not what we had hoped for, especially for the price. We probably won't go back if we visit the area again.

“SUPER cool!”

We met friends here for drinks after dinner. Great place. The decor is super cool. You feel like you walked into a different era when entering this pub.

“Old world charm with good service and food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2013

Like many others, we ate here specifically because of a voucher related to our stay at Chimney Hill Inn. We got there about 5:00 without a reservation and were quickly seated in the dining room. There's an extensive wine list and a small but interesting menu. We each had pretty good salads. My entree was the filet of beef. It was good but not amazing and the cheese was a bit overpowering for my taste when having filet. My wife had the salmon and found it to be excellent with delicious truffled mashed potatoes. For dessert, my wife had a butterscotch pot de creme which she enjoyed.
