Description: The love of family, friends and great food is a tradition for the Egoavils.Having relocated to the United States from Peru in 1992, they sought the opportunities their new home offered. They have now realized their family dream of owning and operating their own restaurant. El Tule was previously the home of another restaurant offering Mexican fare. The Egoavil Family has infused the eatery with a vibe all its own. El-Tule’s Mexican-Latin fusion includes traditional Mexican offerings as well as the addition of Peruvian menu items. Peruvian food has been gaining momentum among foodies across the nation, and prior to El Tule was extremely hard to find in the Delaware Valley. El Tule offers both indoor and outdoor dining. Guests may bring their own wine or alcohol of choice. Our patio is dog friendly.Subpages

“EXCELLENT FOOD”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2014

This was my first time dining here and I have to say it was delightful! My daughter and I had lunch on a sunny, Sunday afternoon. The service was good, however, it was a little slow to get the dishes we ordered out to us, however, they serve 3 types of salsas to go along with the fresh tortilla chips while you wait (and will give you endless refills).
My daughter ordered the PALTA A LA REINA - Half of an avocado stuffed with Chicken. Served with red onions, tomatoes and marinated with fresh cilantro-lime dressing. She enjoyed it very much, but picked out the peas. I had the chicken empanadas which were excellent. We also had the fried plantains which came with icing for dipping. EXCELLENT! A MUST HAVE!
I would highly recommend this restaurant to locals as well as tourists. Fortunately, I live in New Hope and will now make this part of my repertoire.

“Disappointed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2014

Reviews rated this the best Mexican restaurant although I have to say we were not impressed. We went for lunch and thought the prices were high for the quality of food. The guacamole was not memorable nor was the tortilla chicken soup - mostly broth. My husband had the fried Mexican sandwich, which he said was too greasy. Dinner offers a different menu although I don't think we will go back to try it.

“Excellent food, especially the ceviche!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2014

We were craving something different for dinner and decided on El Tule which is just a few miles away from where we live. It's a BYOB and we brought a nice bottle to enjoy. Every single thing we ordered was fantastic! The ceviche appetizer could've been split between four of us. By the time dinner came we were only able to eat 1/2 and we took the other half home. Service was very good. Atmosphere totally casual. We will definitely be back!

“Not origibal Peruvian food”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2014 via mobile

I went back recently to this Restaurant, food quality has decreased since they opened a new Restaurant Quinoa at Doylestown. I am native from Peru and food is not good at all, dishes are not prepared as they should be, they have altered recipes adding Mexican stuffs and dishes are extremely spicy, do not order Tamales, you won't be able to eat, because it burns, also 'Lomo Saltado' is horrendous. ....a good advise make sure to order first one dish and try it first if you don't like it you won't order more. ..... prices are also too high for the place and food quality. .....I won't go back again.

We are sorry to hear you had a bad experience at our restaurant El Tule. We strive to provide great food and amazing customer service. Our waitstaff recalls this incident, and as most of our clientele know we make food fresh to order, and our 'lomo saltado' is served with peruvian corn (choclo). We however do invite you back to our to try more of our Peruvian specials. We are El Tule and at El Tule we provide more variety with the Mexican cuisine with awesome Peruvian specials Where as our sister restaurant Quinoa Provides more Peruvian dishes with awesome Mexican specials. Now that there are two of us we would like to offer the best of both fairs.
Hope to see you soon!
